Wide receiver stance

Watched a Cincy 2012 highlight film (yeah, I have some time on my hands) and it looks like their receivers had normal stances. I've picked up on the high school like WR stances too. Never really seen that in the SEC that I can recall.

Coach Azzanni is a great recruiter, but a terrible WR coach IMO.

Don't know that I can say he's a terrible WR coach at this point, but I will say that the WR position group is perhaps the most disappointing group on the team IMO.

Evidently, after an entire summer, fall camp and season, no one can run the right route at the right depth, get open, or catch the ball with any consistency whatsoever. Azzani should be getting some serious heat.

What position on the field is doing good consistently? I think they've all been disappointing, I agree though - I expected more from the WR's

Evidently, yes, I think we have seen many WR's open in the center of the field, so, it also falls on Qb's not having enough Vision and "just deer watching his intended reciever'. A good quaterback will see a reciever, then shift his eyes and look for #2 or 3 reciever. imo

Worley/ Dobbs inability to lead recievers on deep routes hurt the recievers production. How many times did you see north or smith 5 yards behind the defender only to be under thrown?

I think the RB's have looked solid all year, especially considering just how bad the O-line has looked all year.

Also helps defeat a jam at the LOS.

Yeah, that's what I meant when I said getting off blocks. I meant getting off jams. Inside hands are key. As you know, usually the player that has his hands inside wins the hands battle and has the upperhand in a one one one matchup.

Coach Azzanni is a great recruiter, but a terrible WR coach IMO.

The stance is broke down to a science really. It's used to increase many different keys of the wr position. Coach azzanni works these guys to death on fundamentals for a purpose. The stance gets the wr off the line of scrimmage as a sprinter would coming off the blocks in a track and field event. I've been there, watched, listened, and learned. Also researched his coaching philosophies. It looks stupid to some because it's different than what you are use to seeing and doing in your moms back yards. That doesn't make it incorrect. Look into these things before judging them. IMO, he's one of if not the best wr coach in the country at any level. He will do great things. He is a young guy with his own techniques and I think it will impact the position in a good way. He knows his stuff, and it works. Got to get depth and experience in his system and style before casting him out. Patience, unfortunately....patience.

I would take Kippy Brown back in a second.

What was his teaching philosophy? What kind of drills did he run? You have no idea. You want big time playmakers back, that's what you really want. We are so far gone now, we have got to change everything to get back on top. Thank goodness we are going to nike. I know that's a different thread, but it's the truth. We need a complete makeover and approach.

On one hand, yes the WRs have been slightly disappointing this year.

HOWEVER, we also have to remember that we were blessed last year with Bray throwing to CP and Hunter (and even ZR tore it up last year). This year we have had three different QBs throwing to mostly inexperienced young guys. It's a tough situation to be a WR without any consistency at the QB position.

Next year, with Treadwell coming in, Pig, and North with another year underneath him, and maybe hopefully Josh Malone, we will have a much better showing IMO.

But who will be the one throwing to them?

Fun Fact of the day: UT QBs this season have accounted for a grand total of 10 passing touchdowns in our first 11 games...
