Why???!!!

g8terh8ter, we're not saying Jones is the best WR right now. We are saying he showed the most promise in the summer. Now he gets a chance to come in and earn his spot back. Obviously he's not coming into the game as THE GUY. but we finally get to see what he can do. That even brings optimism from me.

Your a "What have you done for me lately" player evaluator aren't you?? :)

He caught everything thrown to him the first two games, no one can catch them all.

Well, yeah, in Rogers' case yes. We have had very little to go by before this, so why would I judge a player on his Fr and So years when he sparingly played?

No, he dropped a one or two vs Cal and at least two vs Southern Miss.

I understand that and if you two had read what I actually wrote and not what you wanted to see, then you would have seen that I was agreeing with you and wanting GJ on the field as much as both of you. The thing is, I don't like to mess with a good thing and Ainge has to trust the people on the field with him. If GJ can get back to where he was this week as far as the offense goes, I would love to see GJ be our number 4 guy in front of Hancock. GJ will not crack the Top 3 this year unless he does something spectacular, which in that case by all means start him.

And Rogers dropped a few vs Arky State.

He dropped a minimum of 3 vs UF, including that key one followed by that punt retur....ohh, I won't pick that scab!

I believe you 100%. I just think its a pathetic position for us to be in, having a true freshman be our best playmaker (I hope, we'll see).

I'm not saying he is wrong, but to say you believe someone 100% on an internet message board is setting yourself up for MAJOR disappointment.

You have a twisted definition of "good thing." Ainge play has been pretty good, imo, considering what surrounds his and playcalling, but I wouldn't exactly call our passing game "good." And catching the football is, errr would be, "something spectaclar" for starting WR Rogers, so Jones just needs to catch the ball and I guess he should start.

I don't expect much out of Jones, so there will be no major disappointments. I will be disappointed if he simply cannot catch the football, a al Rogers.

O ye of little faith :p

I'm not arguing with you about Jones playing. You want to see him on the field and I'm saying he'll play against UGA.

Are you getting down, and others for that matter, on Rogers because he is the "Slow White Guy" that people think he is?? Briscoe had dropped more passes than Rogers has this year and last year. Being fairweather on player performances can make you look like an idiot by the time the season ends. Rogers may shine in the GA game and everyone else may have a so-so game. If one more person says that Rogers cost us that PR for a TD against FL I will spontaneously combust. Our Punt Coverage team cost us that return, just like the one against Cal. Rogers is a good receiver and should start the next 3 years here at UT. Rogers was good enough to do PR last year until he got Mono. Am I saying he's better than Hef on PR's, no. I am saying that Rogers is good and will be a UT great,IMO, by the time he leaves this school.

I want that, I just don't want him to try and put the game on his shoulders and make mistakes like the Freshman he is. That's ALL I am saying.

Hey gator hater, you left out Roger's performance at Air Force last year. 5 catches 69 yards. He'll be a good WR here.

Jones is the best playmaker on the roster.. And before the injury he was doing it big.. If he hadnt of been injured before the Florida game you guys would have seen him all over the field.. This comes from probably the best sources that one can have... He is by no means a finished product as a WR, but I promise if you get the ball in his hands he automatically becomes the most dangerous WR... Gerald with the ball in his hands = a lot of broken ankles and missed tackles for the defense..

No, I'm down on him because he cannot catch the football, as I've already mentioned. And I'm a white guy who could care less about the race of our skill players, although having a good white athlete does, for some reason, make me happy.

Briscoe had dropped more passes than Rogers has this year and last year. Being fairweather on player performances can make you look like an idiot by the time the season ends.

There is no way to prove this, not going to argue this with you, but you are flat out wrong. I'd put Rogers' dropped passes number around 7-9, this year alone. Briscoe did have a few, but he hardly had any balls thrown his way with the previous trio of Meach-Swain-Smith.

Being fairweather on player performances can make you look like an idiot by the time the season ends.

I think your opinion that a player, that has played dreadful for your favorite team, is actually a misjudged player is more "fairweather" than my honest assessment.

Rogers may shine in the GA game and everyone else may have a so-so game. If one more person says that Rogers cost us that PR for a TD against FL I will spontaneously combust. Our Punt Coverage team cost us that return, just like the one against Cal.

And I will say he had a good game, but still stinks. And the reason Rogers gets mentioned is because that return doesn't happen if he catches the ball, aka his job.

The three WR we have starting now, may or may not continue to start the next 3 years, but will have good careers here at UT. Taylor and Rogers are the best two I have seen till this point in the season, and until someone steps up they will continue to be. I really hope though that GJ has a better career than all of them though. I put a lot of faith in that kid before the season even started.

I have been on the GJ bandwagon since before the season started Millwood and I have talked with you about this in many recruiting threads prior to this season. I want him out there, but I don't want him out there if he's not at game pace. Being 100% back from an injury doesn't mean you can be 100% game ready.
