I might be missing something, but I dont understand why you would have your line just sit there when you quick snap thinking you have the defense offsides.

At that point in the game, I probably would've just froze and let them kill Peterman too.

Tennessee attempted to run a trick play against Florida where the offensive line doesn't move and the wide receivers streak toward the end zone, trying to catch the defense off guard.

Lulz. Not much to say.

BR is good sometimes. But more often than not it sucks.

Hahaha this college freshmen didn't even watch the game. Bailed out by a PI call? We were the victims of a PI call. Can't believe people still believe this was a "trick play".

It is to emphasize the fact that the D jumped offsides. Not sure where the ref was looking, but he definitely missed that one. Then we get off p.i. to add insult to injury.

Yeah I didn't understand that call? If UF was offsides and it was basically a free play for UT, how did we get penalized for offensive pass interference? Shouldn't the offsides have negated that? Was a huge turning point in the game because it knocked us out of FG range and we got zero points. If we could have turned that opportunity into points as well as the time when UF fumbled the punt it could have been a much different game. We would have had huge momentum imo. All we needed to do was hold onto the ball after UF fumbled the punt and we would have had an easy field goal at least. Very frustrating, especially on the first play. If Worley had been out there, that probably would have happened.

I guess I look at it differently. I just see it as a free shot against our QB everytime.

Even the guys on the SEC network game against WKU understood that they stood still when the defense jumped offsides. It is not a trick play other than it being a free play due to offsides. Unfortunately, the refs weren't looking to see the blatant offsides, and Verne, Gary, and apparently lots of other people don't understand.

Not to be the one to draw up plays in the sand, but imagine if Peterman and the o-line took off running up the field after about 1-2 seconds? The d-line was already past everything and the middle was wide open for 20 yards.

I think BR is part of TBS/CNN now. They've gotten alot better but still its fans or blogger wannabes writing practically for free

Maybe because the offsides wasn't called?

Well that makes sense then, but they sure looked offsides to me. Throwing the deep ball everytime we think a team might be offsides seems like it might have more risks than rewards with our offense.

If that exact situation happens 1000 times,

We score 75 touchdowns
We get 50 PI's in our favor
We get 874 5 yard penalties against the defense
And we get what the refs called Saturday once.

I think the risk/reward is justified

Edit: 20 (of those 874) times there will be offsetting penalties, which should have been the call Saturday

You're probably right. It just seemed like it couldn't have come at a worse time. Maybe when they are down near the redzone they should refrain from doing it though? Or maybe that should be the time they should definitely do it. I don't know, I could argue both ways.

But if we are down on our own end of the field I am defineltly for it. But being in scoring position is it worth it to possibly make a mistake and blow points, or is it worth it to take the chance and maybe score the points we might not otherwise have? With this offense I think we have to take some chances and you're right that probably doesn't happen 9 times out of 10. But we have to be careful not to shoot ourselves in the foot also, given our offense. I just wish there was a way we could have known an offsides was going to be called before running the play, and or wish it could have been more blatant. But they definitely looked offsides at the time to me.

So, because an 18 year old playing in his first college game in the swamp let his nerves get the best of him we should let him get drilled. That'll show him right?

At least his teammates understood that, more than I can say for some of these so called "fans".

Gary was to busy courting Easley to actually watch the game. I hope Danielson's wife can handle Gary and Easley going steady.

Supposed to be done when the defense jumps offsides... It's designed to get the defense to pause or hesitate playing the down while we send a WR deep for a completion. Sometimes it works for a big completion or pass interference penalty on a DB.

Thanks for pointing this out Mrs. Peterman.

Discipline. They never heard the snap count that was called in the huddle.

Plus it might make a defender hesitate and allow for a big play.

He was definitely off-sides. THAT is the reason he chucked it deep. EVERYONE in the stadium thought it was a free play for us. EXCEPT the refs... of course. Haven't ya'll gotten used to this **** yet?

It's sad but it's the norm in this series.
