Why wouldn’t anyone want to play for Heupel?

Agreed with this 100%. Don't understand why our recruiting is so bad. Kentucky and Mizzou getting better recruits than UT. Things might get worse before they get better.

The fact that he can coach up a depleted roster to play above their competition and maximize their potential. Imagine getting a roster of a top 10 recruiting class.

Other SEC coachs don't want none of that...

We aren’t scoring blue chip recruits. But we are going to score points. And on defense, you will play. Our defense is averaging about 80 snaps a game.

Most explosive offense we've had in some time. We are doing this with a lack of depth at OL and RB. We only have what 2 QB's now?

99 snaps on D tonight. This team and coaching staff has a toughness and resiliency I haven’t seen since Majors’ prime

I grew up watching those late Majors teams. There was no deficit too big for them to come back from. I've watched a lot of hopeless games to the end over these past fifteen years because of that early conditioning. This team gives me real hope that we'll see that sort of play once again.

One thing about it. Our defense may be the best conditioned in the league.

I think (hope) that when recruits see these games offensive players really want some of that high speed and defensive players see openings for playing NOW!
We shall see...

So far, so good. We are barrelling toward 7-5 with a bowl game. Outstanding considering last year.
