Didn't Giles decommit ans say he would commit to Tennessee again if Drayton would be re-hired ? If Drayton is a sure lock, why has Giles commited to South Carolina ? Or is Giles just a liar ? Im not 100% sure I would want Drayton back . Foster was bad last year, Creer was ok, and Hardesty was ok. We havent had a great running back in forever. I think he should go with Phil but that s just my honest opinion.

I'm not so sure I would want him to stay either.. I kinda wonder though if Giles wasn't the same issue as Boyd and Kiff told Drayton to let him know to look elsewhere..

Why does his question anger you so ? you seem to be very sarcastic that someone may have something else to do with their life than read this board, heaven forbid someone come on here and look/ask for information !!! ok now go ahead and tell me about my horrible grammer and i didnt capitalize anything !!!
He's just a kid so don't worry about him. And it's grammar...:haha_oh:

Gran is a much better coach and he is also a top 25 recruiter. Here is the kicker, he coaches ST's too. Why Kiffin hasn't hired him is beyond me. I think we may still hire Gran if Gonzales doesn't come. Drayton will coach WR's.

I'm not saying we can't get a big name OC and hopefully we will, but I have been wondering for awhile why a big name would sign on here.. CLK has said he will call the plays and control the offense multiple times.. I may be wrong, but why would you sign on if you didn't get to control it.. I can understand the HC having the final say, but he seem to indicate that he would basically be the OC also.. Do we really need one if he is going to run the offense??? Maybe we will just sign on several position coaches..

Behind the times much!!!!!!

that's what people remember him for, but 6 out of the 9 years he was OC at Purdue they had a top 10 offense in the country.

He isn't on UT sports yet... I'm assuming they haven't had a press confrence yet.. Do we know for sure that he has been hired or are we just fairly confident..

He has been hired and I assume a formal presser will follow when he has the rest of his offensive staff in place.

He coached Brees at Purdue
That's his claim to fame

Turning an incredible dearth of talent into an extremely productive unit is his claim to fame.

If not for Chaney, Brees' claim to fame would be nothing more than having a mole cover half his face.

Seems like he brings a lot to the table, as far as the passing game goes.
Looks like a good pick up for us.

glad to see Sean Peyton capitilize on his work
Brees is also a pretty good NFL QB

He's out recruiting. Per Hubbs and Volquest staff, they are waiting to hire the entire offensive staff before they hold another PC. Probably will introduce them all at once.

not only is he recruiting, he is recruiting a big time DT in Sheldon Richardson the #1 DT in the country because he is in Missouri which is where chaney was when he was with the rams, I think Chaney is an underrated recruiter who will give us a recruiting area we dont usually recruit well in.
