Why We Lost-CB Talent

Given how today's game is played and that PFF considers CB the most valuable position on defense and 2nd overall only to QB, this may be worse than what Dooley did by recruiting 0 offensive linemen. Pruitt went nearly 2 full seasons without signing a CB (2020 and partial credit for 2021).

2021-0 cb's signed, 2 3* transfers only one of which was available tonight.

What's scary is we signed only 2 3* corner's this season too. So over the past 3 seasons (2022, 2021, 2020) we've only brought in 4 players at the position. I think our only hope lies in the fact that Martinez put 2 3*s in the nfl last time he was here at CB, that and the transfer portal.

I think the coaches plan to move at least one O player to secondary next season.
But yeah, you're right, we need A LOT more help in 22.

We are really bad at cb and at linebacker. The frustrating thing is that we don’t rotate and give other guys an opportunity. Beasley should never be in the game. He’s literally unwilling to take on a freak upright running qb. And Burrell has been god awful every single time he’s been in there all year. Also op…we got the two former 4 star dback recruits this past off season. Turnage was one of them. Can’t remember the others name. But just thought that was worth mentioning.

But our inability to dominate them at the line of scrimmage was the real reason we didn't completely run away with it.

Need more talent in the trenches first before anything.
