So the painting below just sold for $236 MILLION dollars.

What. The. ****.

What am I missing here. It looks like my daughter's 3rd grade sloppery.

I look at it and say to myself, "Hmmm. Her hands are obviously not in the right place or not hers. You got a lot of random **** painted here and there that clearly make sense only to people far more sophisticated than me. Whackadoodle Asians or something blowing kisses to one another?"

As a result, I've enrolled in a local art class. I'll let you know when my first $300M painting is sold.

PS: I'll be painting with my buttcheeks.

I was like you and thought the same thing at first. Went down a rabbit hole.

This video explains the painting in detail, rather fascinating.

Additionally the painting saved the woman from being deported to the concentration camps.

Elisabeth Lederer's identity and survival
  • Jewish identity: Lederer was from a prominent Jewish family.
  • False claim: To avoid Nazi persecution, she falsely claimed that Klimt, who died in 1918 and was not Jewish, was her biological father.
  • Affidavit: Her mother, Serena Lederer, signed an affidavit in support of the false claim.
  • SS supervision: Lederer lived under SS supervision until her death in 1944
