I asked this in a another thread but I'm really curious as to why people want to see Fulmer fired? Will that automatically make us national championship material without him? I'm serious, I'd like to see a well thought explaination without the usual BS because talk.

we have hit a wall. We are good, but we will never be great because he doesnt know how to develop talent. It comes here and wastes away becuase it isnt coached well enough.

We haven't won an SEC championship in 8 years, and are 2-5 in bowl games since that time... That's about enough reason right there.

He is to blah. I can predict everything that we are about to run. His play calling is gutless on both sides of the ball. I think we just need a change.

Is that your personal reason. Can you prove that in any sense?

The biggest reason is every year that he stays, we are further and further away from the level we once were.

we haven't won the SEC since 98. he has a losing record against the top 10 and in bowls. our program has slipped off badly over the last 4 years or so. to get the program back on track we need a new coach.

my dad was telling me about an article he read in the paper maybe last year about TN not being able to develop their talent.

Finished outside the top 25, 4 of the last 7 years, assuming UT drops out again this year.

Until Ainge got hurt we were a definate contender to win the SEC. Besides, what happened to Cutcliffe being a genius this year. Now its Fulmers fault for the play calling. You people waffle way too much.

Ok lets look at his Big Game record since losing in the 2001 sec championship game.Lets look at the displine
of the players over the last 3 years alone. The man may be a good man but he is far from a good coach anymore.

Why dont you want to hear about winning percentage? You dont want to hear about it because its a good argument. And so when peyton lays an egg against houston, he should be cut?

This decade:

2-3 bowl record
0-2 sec championship games

2 of those bowl losses UT was a heavy favorite.

He is a solid leader. Our team is constantly competitng year in and year out despite last seasons horrific record.

Does every coach succed year in and year out? No, the team is in a little flunk as of late. Is that any reason to want to fire our coach. No. Nobody wanted his head after '98, did we? Name me a program outside of USC and Ohio State who are in the top 5 every year?

Its typical nature, fire the coach, we get better. Prove it.

last i looked fulmer is the head coach, he gets paid 2+ million a year to run the team in the ground. CUT helped, but i'll admit his gameplan was terrible today. i have said for sometime chavis should be let go. we are pretenders, we will never be contenders untill fulmer is gone.

Because no one in the world cares about what he did in 1998... Try boasting about champions almost 10 years ago and see if anyone cares.

What is his WP since then.

Coach Warren, I appreciate your question but I think since Fulmer has been more or less promised a raise, his position is pretty much a lock for a while. It's amazing how raises are discussed before the season ends. In the business world, businesses wait until you finish the year before the word "raise" is even brought up. In my opinion, I think salaries need to based on performance even for coaches,

although i'm really dissapointed in the way things have gone the last few years, i'll give fulmer 1-2 more years to get things rolling. if not, we are in trouble.
