All this talk of...schemes, oc , dc , butch's offense. Whatever lets go back and help me understand why we are in the situation w oline and qb. Lets ask why we only have 1 capable qb and are out of lineman right now. Is it butch's lack of signings or what? I feel like if we dont bring in some real deal juco im talkin qb and o line we are gonna be hurting bad nxt yr. I dont think we should be this thin injuries or no. Question is why? I wasnt happy when butch failed to sign a qb in my opinion.. But once again the o line issue seems to have crept up on me again just like w dooley.
Sorry i dont really understand all the recruiting as well as i would like but to me its a lot easier to bring in talent when the cupboard is bare. These positions have been bare for years so where's the backups???

We have an inordinate amount of highly rated "busts". Makes you wonder why they are busting...

Imagine what our offense is going to look like next year. No Dobbs. No Hurd. No Kamara. And our defense. No Sutton. No Mayben. No Barnett. Could see lots of regression next season.

We are going to have one of the most exciting QB competitions in the country this next off season. RS Freshman stud in Gurantano, a solid arm and semi-experienced QB in Dormady, and a great athlete in Sherion. No Juco kid is going to transfer in.

Why no Hurd and Kamara? Do you really think they leave? This team still doesn't have a lot of seniors. And no Dobbs gives Guarantano an opportunity to be better than Dobbs. I love Dobbs, but he has limited passing ability. We're already without Sutton and Maybin. Kirkland will be back, and Jumper had grown into a serviceable player. Next year has potential to be better. We have to have some great recruiting though to keep the trend going upward after next year though.

We already are seeing a no Sutton,Mayben, and DKjr defense now, so no big change there. We all saw how special Kelly is going to be when Hurd leaves. I'm not convinced Kamara leaves yet (RBs don't get drafted much anymore). And we have 3 solid athletes vying for a QB job.

No team expects to or has depth to replace the amount of starters that were not playing today. The injuries also means that the ones playing have to play more snaps in the game or you use the 3rd and 4th in the position on the play.

And all this against the #1 team who had NO starters out.

Ugh. Ok lets put things into perspective here. Are we pretty thin? Yes. But its not quite as bad as some think. Let me explain. Look who we just played. A team absolutely stacked with NFL talent everywhere. I have complete confidence that no other SEC team would do what Bama just did to us. Because Bama is so dominate, they made our backups look even that much worse.

North
Williams
KMac
Kongbo
Bates
Martin
Richmond
Hall...

North was injured most the time he was here. Wasn't a bust. Was a stud as a freshman.

Williams didn't want to put in the effort to compete.

KMac has played pretty well this season. Remember, he didn't play his senior year of high school, so he wasn't ready last year.

Kongbo is and always was a raw specimen. It's not fair to call him a bust yet. He's not played a lot of organized football.

Bates has been a mystery. He's been riddled with injuries as well, but he's not the type player yet we all hoped he would be.

Martin is a bust I think.

Richmond is still a freshman. Calling him a bust at this point isn't fair.

Hall is not a bust at all. When he got back from his injury, our line preformed significantly better. By the way, Hall was a three star.

Wow. An excuse for every one but Martin?

2012 recruiting class had zero OL.

2013 recruiting class had 3 OL.

Weisman
Sanders
Kendrick

2014 recruiting class had 4 OL

Thomas
Raulerson
Blair
Mosley

There is your answer. Bama has had the #1 recruiting class damn near every year Saban has been there.

What Bukowskified said plus we had three fr/rsfr ol in the game today. We will, hopefully, be deeper at lb next year, too. I've seen the MBA running back and he is a stud against HS competition. Hope he puts on a few pounds. Overall, it seems the program is getting better.

CBJ is my ninth HC. Long way from hand wringing right now.

The injury bug is sometimes contagious. Hope we see a hard look at training program to see if there is something needing change.
