What qualifies any former player?? The crappy part about sports talk shows is its starting to be 90% athletes and 10% journalist

What qualifies a former player to speak with authority on what it takes to win a conference or national title? I'd say one that's actually done it -- or even come close to doing it. That would be a good start.

I didn't even recognize this guy the first time I saw him speaking and I quickly realized he didn't like Tennessee. So I looked him up and was reminded that he had been a Vandy player. Then I found out he had been a reality TV star.

None of that would necessarily disqualify him if he didn't also sound like a clueless idiot, which he does.

Again I see Jordan Rodgers on SECN talking to Finebaum about which current SEC teams he thinks are (or are not) worthy of respect. And again he's not particularly complimentary to Tennessee.

Obviously, everyone is entitled to their opinion. But what qualifies a former mediocre Vandy quarterback as an "expert" SEC football analyst? He's sitting there talking about what it takes to win a title. WTH does he know about what it takes to win anything? Because he's a pretty-boy "reality" TV star?

I'm sure they're trying to get more female viewers, but gimme a break with this idiot.

No one is an expert. College or NFL, they are all nothing more than talking heads--one guy with an opinion. Yours or mine--anyone who halfway follows SEC football--would be just as valid. The could pick any one of 5,000 or more guys--or women!--to pontificate on the SEC, and every opinion would just be one person's meaningless opinion. I don't know why you watch these shows. I stopped watching and listening to sports talkers--TV and radio--a long time ago. It's time filler dressed up as something more.
