why is it always something with Heupel?

You don’t know that. You didn’t know who Saban was before he won a championship and you didn’t know who Dabo Swinney, Kirby Smart, or Curt Cignetti were before they proved it at the highest level.

We need someone running the athletics department who knows how to evaluate talent. Maybe we have that person already.. That elite HC is out there, but you won’t find it at a Power 5 program, not already making the playoffs every year. You have to get them before they can name their price.
Dabo Swinney was a joke before he eventually won a title, remember "Clemsoning"? that was Dabo failing.

Ohio State was ready to run Ryan Day out before he went on the crazy playoff run.

It's not the job of the AD to evaluate talent. It's the job of the AD to have high level coaches who know how to do it. We have that. What a silly point

I respect your opinion but we'll have to agree to disagree. IMO Bama's roster during the Saban years was a MAJOR factor in his success there. From 2008-2023 they had the number 1 recruiting class 10 times, number 2 twice, number 3 twice and number 5 once. By a significant margin that was the highest cumulative ranking of any school during that period of time.

What is this; a courteous reply? Somebody ban this guy before it infects others!

Sure, I agree but they were going there to win championships because that was the standard. And no one did it better than Saban.

You may not like the guy, but to try and discredit the best coach there ever was in college football is a bit silly. He started winning. That’s why kids wanted to go there. Kids wanted to win and get to the NFL. He built that. That dynasty wasn’t an accident. Every other coach at that time had the same opportunity to recruit those kids. It wasn’t an accident that those teams played disciplined football.

That’s more than coaching. That’s building a culture. We won’t build that with our current coach moping around on the sideline with 0 passion or emotion.

Whenever I get angry @Heupel and his lack of awareness of Game Management/Clock Management coupled with his refusal to want to improve on both of these shortcomings...

I remember THIS!

Did you see the defense Saturday? They looked pretty damn good. You have to use a little common sense here…. FB just turned 18 in June…. Let that sink in.
I agree defense is better. Hype has a problem evaluating players, qb for example
