As for me,living in the middle Tennessee area, some of their fans are horrible. They win 1 football game every 20 years against UT and they think they have accomplished something like winning a super bowl!:banghead2: That goofball (Gordon Ghee)running the school now is waaay out there.

I find it difficult to muster much emotion when it comes to Vandy.

I can't really say I hate Vanderbilt. I dislike them when we play them, but they are hard to hate-especially when we blow them out in football. They aren't on the same level as Kentucky or Florida for me or even Alabama who I respectfully hate. Kentucky and Florida I just straight up in-in all circumstances hate.

A reasonable person needs no reason to hate Vandy....they just do because they are Vandy.

I hate Vandy because I live around them here in Nashville and have to listen to their sports talk hot air whenever they do something remotely positive.

I also don't care for Gordon Geek and his "better than you" stance he has taken since arriving to Vandy.

One final thing I hate about Vandy is how rich they get off of consistent losing. I guarantee Gordon Geek already has one of his admins down at the Sandestin Hilton standing in line for the bowl payouts. Probably been camped outside the door since the UT game.

I grew up a Vol fan, and I never had a problem with Vandy.

That was until I went out to Austin Peay for a couple of semesters. After hanging out with Vandy fans, you'd never know that we dominate them 99% of the time. I heard over and over how Vandy would beat us next season. Well, 6 years later their prediction finally came true, but I can't stand their attitude.

I still have more hate for Florida and Alabama, but Vandy fans get on my nerves.

eh I dont really have feelings one way or the other. I do root for them to beat UGA, UF, and Bama though. Mainly because it is really embarassing to lose to them as we found out two years ago

If you don't live around here , it's no big deal, but their fans can rub you the wrong way.

I hate Vanderbilt because they cut the lead from 32 to the final deficit of 27 today.

I hate Vandy. period. living in Nashville you are bombarded with pro-vandy propaganda in the local media. It amazes me how anyone other than a VU grad or someone employed there can be a fan. VU is a PRIVATE school that would not allow most of the so-called vandy fans on campus on any day that is not a game-day. I find it funny how every VU fan seems to act like they are smarter just because they are a fan of the university's sports teams. During their little run in football a few years back, they could not even sell out a 45,000 seat stadium when they were 4-0!

Vandy will never win an SEC championship in football. Its pointless for them being in the SEC. Kentucky has a good basketball program, but what motivation does Vandy have for remaining in the SEC? The Big East or ACC would be a better fit would give them an outside chance of making a bowl game.

I had a friend in high school who was the cousin of Chris Lawson? I think that was his name, big red headed kid.

Any who, the friend always would brag about him. Come on man, Chris Lawson?

Vandy = Notre Dame - winning + never showing up in a bowl game

I actually don't mind Gordon Gee. I think he's a bit out there, but he seems to be the only one who's actually looking at the relative absurdity of college athletic spending and trying to rein it in. Granted, it's at Vandy, which has as much of a shot at winning a D-1A national title as Mount Union does, but still...

The thing that cracks me up is the snooty attitude about the "diploma mill in Knoxville", when in reality the Vandy diploma says more about having money than actually being a committed student. Vandy is far removed from, say, Rice, Northwestern, Michigan, Illinois, the service academies, etc

I was at the Vandy-UT game in Nashville a few years ago when they played in Titans Stadium. Some of the students were yelling and calling UT "low IQ motherf-----s". That didn't sit too well with me.

I annihilated the average SAT score of Vandy and chose to attend UT on scholarship. The three smartest guys I've known thus far made the same decision. The Vandy students I've met in grad school are pretty cool, but they are now on equal footing with myself, except that I have no debt from my undergraduate education while they are in the hole over $100,000. There's nothing wrong with going to Vandy, but those students don't really have any right to criticize the UT student body.

I don't have any problem with Vandy, one of my best friends is a graduate and she turned out fine. I have my opinion on whether or not Vandy should even be part of the SEC, but it has nothing to do with hatred.

Amen. I was in the same boat as you, got accepted to Vandy but instead chose a smaller liberal arts school that offered me a serious scholarship.

No regrets - it's nice not to have that debt!

Most Vandy students and grads have the total snob, chin in the air thing going. A lot of people go to UT than Vandy because they have different things to offer. Tennessee has much much much better math and sciences and Vandy has a better English department. I will say this though, their fans suck. There are more UT fans at Vandy vs. UT games than Vandy fans. Can't say I blame them though. A lot of em are obnocious rich a holes.
