I'm just wonder why we always bring up Fulmer when something negative happens with the new staff? I have been doing it too, but I got to thinking about it.. It seems like people (including me) bring up Fulmer everytime someone questions something Kiff did that was questionable .. I wanted Fulmer gone as bad as anyone, but the man is gone now... I thought we were moving foward when we hired Kiff, but it seems like we keep going backwards.. Some things that are questionable have happened since Kiff has taken over.. I think Kiff even realizes that.. Just because we question doesn't mean that a person doesn't support him or the team... I guess I'm asking when does it get to the point we can question the new staff's actions without someone bringing up the last 10 years? I think Kiff will do a great job, but I don't agree that we are not allowed to question or even try to understand what he is doing when something negative happens.. Again I am a Kiff fan before someone says I'm not.. I actually got to the point that I really like him...:good!:

I haven't really seen many people bring up Fulmer when they question Kiffin's actions unless they are Vols haters.

I think it is something that we do naturally. It will slowly go away. Give it time.

The next coach will be compared to Kiffin and maybe still to Fulmer.

I think, we as Vol fans, just want to win. We want our program to be ran the best it can possibly be ran. We want our program ran clean.

We had over 17 years of the same thing. We knew what we was in for. We knew what to expect. Everything is just different now, unlike anything we have had here before. I think most of us are optimistic about CLK at the same time we are still scared that things are not going to work out.

I think CPF was the last 15+ year coach we will see. What he did just doesn't happen much anymore. Just think what Penn St and FSU will go through when JoPa and Bowden leave. It will be something they have not had to do in 30+ years.

It's not about Kiffin and Fulmer; the new guy is always compared to the old guy. Zook was compared to Spurrier, and then Meyer was compared to Zook. And Spurrier. Saban was compared to David Shula, who was compared to Mike Price, who was compared to Dennis Franchione, who was compared to Mike DuBose, who was compared to Gene Stallings. And all of them were compared to Paul Bryant. Les Miles was compared to Saban. Mark Richt has been judged against Jim Donnan and Ray Goff, and all of them have been weighed against Vince Dooley. Obama is compared against Bush, who was compared to Clinton, who was compared to Bush. Etc etc etc.

I'm tired of talking about why we compare them, and lets do it.

Obviously, they have very different styles. I'm getting a little tired of all these violations. Fulmer didn't have many violations in his whole tenure. Overall, I have been very pleased with Kiffin and his staff so far. Bottom line, you can get all the recruits in the world, but if you don't win in the fall, you won't keep your job. I don't think we have anything to worry about though.

Ridiculous. Fulmer had plenty of secondarys in his tenure but a coach with that many years doesn't make the news since everyone knows is nothing

I agree.
I respect fulmer and think his time had come
but what gets me more than anything was the people who get on him about recruiting and player personel.
Sure it has dropped off the last couple years.
But lets not forget only a handful of coaches have cranked out more NFL'ers

Chalk it up to human nature. It's quite natural to contrast and compare the old to the new. It happens in education, politics, sports, the work environment, and every other field of human endeavor.
