What else are they going to talk about? Winning games cause they are a great program? Don't think so.......

You have to understand the mentality of a lot of SC fans. They are the very definition of insanity - doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome. This is a carbon copy of the stuff I heard when Lou Holtz got hired.

They'll win about 4 games early on and get excited - and then they'll take their annual October/November nosedive when they have to play Tennessee, Florida and Clemson.

I think the smart SC fans would gladly take a 6-5 season and a bowl bid.

I see no difference between USC and Florida fans talking smack, except maybe that USC's coach has proven he can make it in the SEC. If they want to talk smack, more power to them, it is after all their board. No I don't think that USC will beat Tennessee, and no I don't think it will be close, but over the long run, I think that USC will improve, and we will see more quality athletes go there. I am not saying they don't have talent, I am just saying they don't have a lot of it. As for the fans at USC, maybe they should look at the talent level at USC, and then compare that to the talent that Steveo had at UF.

It would be nice for them to beat Clemson, but yeah UT and UF maybe out of reach this year

S. Carolina sent tickets back to us that our ticket office sold today. Don't tell me they are excited about "beating" us.

I doubt it. They will make to a bowl, maybe third probably fourth in the SEC east.

P.S. Dang I have been caught. I guess I was editing when you posted. But I think we are the same mindset

Yeah, but a Clemson fan set them straight.

Beating UT at UT is impossible for your team next year. I hope you don't think there is a Michael Jackson's chance in prison that you guys will win that one.

UT wont have any problem with the SC returns.
Ive had that game highlighted on my schedule since SOS was hired.
Not because its going to be a great game, But an a?? whipping. Welcome back to Neyland JERK! :hi:
I can only imagine the noise and chant when SOS comes out of the tunnel. :dance:

Yeah no joke. I'd sooner see MSU beat us that SC beat UT. Although I should keep my mouth shut. It's has a habit of being intruded by foot.

I have nothing against the state of Sc. But if CPF has the chance? I believe he has every chance i want the Jumbo and score board sounding like a pinball machine Oct 29th.
SOS has lost his visor for now what else can he throw besides a cry baby fit? Priceless!! :cry:

They could land him. He's got two more years before he graduates, add to that a year or two at most riding the bench if he goes. Steve could have the program turned around by then, if he pulls it off.

milo makes a good point - he could wind up anywhere - I am sure he is looking at it with the perspective of getting the playing time and getting it early. Think about it - if goes the route of Ut he will have to sit a couple of years before he plays -- Spurrier on the other hand will feed him to the wolves in the hopes that it all works out - the man has a thirst to win and will do whatever it takes

I personally don't see us getting Clauson. We have a Soph QB that Fulmer is already comparing to Manning. Following him, we have a Vunderbar young QB in Crompton who will redshirt this year and have 4-plus years of eligibility afterward.

Clausen will be looking to make plays early and often. SC is not out of the question for him. However... Stev-O will need to recruit big-time to get an O-line to protect him.

Actually, this looks like it could be good for the SC program. Spurrier is a good coach. If he can land a good QB he can use that to recruit an O line.
The NCAA violations inherited look to be his biggest hurdles to becoming successful there - IMHO.

Am I reading this thread wrong, or would most of the people on this thread just as soon see Jimmy go somewhere else? This is a truly talented quarterback, and I would like the guy to play his ball at Tennessee!

I don't think anybody has said they want JC to go elsewhere; just being realistic about the fact that he is a highly sought after recruit that is going to be looked at by every big school in the country.

Orange, I don't want Jimmy going anywhere but UT.

He is one of the most talented QB's in HS that I have ever seen

I don't want him to go elsewhere but you have to be realistic with the idea that he very easily could. Our Qb situation has suddenly become very competitive and JC might not want to live in the shadows of his brothers. Just keepin it real.

Alright, I suppose I fired that post off a little quick, but I was reading a lot about JC and other schools. I guess I would just prefer to use my orange colored glasses where his prospects of being a Vol are concerned!

Amen to that. By the time he gets ready for College ball, we will need as much depth as we can. And to hell with Spurrier, let him struggle as much as he can. I want nothing more than for him to fall right on his butt. He is too cocky.
