Does anyone have concerns about UT's QB this year. Most of my posts are gonna be about Kiffen guys as I have shared. I am off the rest of the week so I have free time. It seems UT lost 5 games due to the QB. Your QB is the leader of the team. Without a leader everything else falls apart. I just was wondering why continue the same old thing.

Kiffin didn't sign a QB because he didn't have time to get the kind of player he wanted. And he didn't want to sit a kid on the bench for the next three or four years when his 2010 guy gets on the field.

No need. Kiffin called Tebow the other day while he was on the UF campus. He's transferring to UT.

He's referring to someone named Kiffen...I'm still waiting on a link though. I have no clue what he does though.

You certainly pose a provocative question.

My guess is that he intended to sign a quarterback in this class....but, with things being so busy and getting settled into a new job, he probably just forgot.

Kiffin sort of addressed this in one of his press conferences.

Paraphrased: "Why sign someone now who's just going to get beat out by who we sign next season"?

He got into the game this season too late to be going after qbs that fit what he wants. Work with what we have this season, and in the 2010 class we can pursue whoever we want with lots of playing time available to them.

It's about the long term plan with Kiffin. Kiffin doesn't appear to be one that believes in signing bodies just to make the rankings look good.

oh i see sorry, kiffin, maybe that helps, so now you will answer? again sorry for the mix up

Why sign a 2 star QB that will not do anything besides sit on the bench and play with his helmet?

Also, most of your elite QB prospects committ very early in their recruiting process. And by the time CLK was hired the elite QB's were off the board.

To answer your question...no point in bringing in a QB that will not play for you...

He's already been answered. That obviously isn't what he's here for.

I'm pretty sure Kiffin made an attempt at a couple of quality QB's, but they had already made up their minds to go elsewhere. There really wasn't any QB's left that could come straight in out of high school and play any better than the ones we have. I know they all looked bad last year, but I am not so sure it was their fault. All of these guys were as highly rated coming out of high school as anyone that was left in the 2009 class. I think it was the right move. Who knows what any of these guys will do with some good coaching and development. We will land a big time QB in the 2010 class.
