I really wish we could have Vandy, KY or Auburn this week. This team just pulled off an monumental, program changing win...and how are we rewarded?? We have to travel to play Bama!! NOT FAIR! lol It just sucks that we have all this positive kharma and momentum going only to be put right back to reality by those fa hqs in Tuscalooser. Call me a whiner...whatever. Im just sick and tired of seeing teams like Ohio St have a yellow brick road to the OZ every year, while we play 8 top 15 teams!

I truly believe if we had Auburn at home this week, we'd carry this momentum with us and beat them. Now, that's not to say we wont come Nov 9th, but this trip to Bama comes at the worst time. But, some may say it comes at a great time because of the big win and confidence level. Guess its all how you look at it!

This VOL team is full of confidence. Bama is expected to win, so there is zero pressure on us. Sounds like a dream formula for success in my opinion.

We have to play Bama at some point. It's better to catch them when we're on a high. And, Auburn looks pretty good.
Playing a lesser team this week could actually be a bad thing; it's hard to play your best week after week. But, there's no risk for a letdown when the opponent is Bama (other than us probably losing).

Good points guys! Yeah, again, its all how an individual looks at it lol I guess I should have named the thread "Having to play Bama this Sat...good time or horrible timing?" ha

Still doesn't seem right to me that this game is NOT during the third weekend in October.

I hate Bama!

By this time in the season most teams are playing tough schedules. Our Ducks games are now against the toughest teams in the conference.
Your Volunteers are improving weekly. They look like a different team from the one we played. It's like two different teams. Hoping Worley uses his legs more. I saw a couple openings and hollered for him to run but he did not hear me :) . You have reason to be proud of this team no matter how the season ends. The players are really becoming well seasoned.

We get rewarded with a chance to beat the #1 team in the country. I hope that's how our team is looking at it. That's how any competitor should look at it. You play the game to play games like this, not to play Vandy and UK.

Playing teams like Bama on the road will only help us beat future opponents like Missouri and Auburn. BTW, Auburn is far from mediocre.

Auburn is far from mediocre

Glad I wasn't the only person who noticed that in his post. Some people just can't seem to look past what they did last year, even though they've recruited well for several years, are 6-1 and are just outside the top 10. Either that or they just aren't paying attention.

UT will never be a top 10 team unless we are as deep as Bama. We will always have 7 or so top 25 teams on our schedule

No matter what happens against Alabama at least we know the team will recover and be ready to play the following week.
