Hahaha yea lets just go down to the corner market and pick up a super star... you must be living in the 90's my friend. would be nice, but with the current state of our program the one or two guys that end up being that good arnt coming here
Pretty sure most of you were fired up when we signed 2 of the top 10 in the country with oku and brown. That didn't work out too well.
Lane will impress this year if healthy. Playing injured as a true freshman behind a crappy playing, confused line and losing his key wr and qb didn't help him last year.
I think we are in much better shape than you realize. We have enough RB talent on the roster to have a great running attack. I think Q Watson will be the sleeper of the 2012 class...quite possibly our version of Chris Johnson.

lsu got a better stable of backs then ugaAs far as running backs go, only Alabama and Georgia have recruited (and signed) elite backs year-in and year-out over the last few years. LSU, South Carolina, and Arkansas may have elite running games (I think we'll see that with Arkansas more this year since Davis is back), but they do not necessarily have elite backs across the lineup. Perhaps one elite or very good back, like Lattimore or Davis, but not all across the lineup like Alabama and Georgia. Those are the only two that have elite backs stacked up on one another.
By madness, you mean stop pretending this kid doesn't have world class speed? That's why we recruited him. Who ever heard of Chris Johnson, in college? When the Titans drafted him (late 1st Rd), most analysts thought they reached too far on a scat back. He has since proven the pick to be a good one. But no one thought he'd be anything more than what we expect from Q.stop the madness

I never said anything about Que's speed but since you brought it up yes he's very fast especially in the 100m but the time that counts in football is a players 40 time and by all accounts Que runs a 4.4 even though his 100m is better it's not world class. Another thing to consider is that the weight of equipment will slow Que down more at 5'9" 170 then they will players that have a little more size.
Chris Johnson is the one shining example of a lightly recruited small fast back that made it big. There are hundreds of other lightly recruited fast backs that didn't make any impact at all. It's just you never hear about all the one's that are not Chris Johnson. It's madness to even think there's a remote chance he will be a Chris Johnson type back. The only thing comparable between Johnson and Watson is that they were not recruited by any SEC schools.
