I don't think we are going to be lucky enough to beat both Florida and Georgia this year but I feel better about Florida on the road than Georgia at home. Beating one of them though will be a huge deal in Vol Land. What say you?

I don't think beating Georgia or Florida would be a "surprise."

Kentucky or Vandy beating Georgia, like they did last year, is a "surprise." Either of those teams beating Florida would rise to the level of "shocking."

I know things haven't been perfect with UT football this decade...but I can say without any qualms that we are still in the same league as UGA and UF.

We have a legit shot at beating both teams anytime we play them...this year is no differant...

With that being said...if I had to guess which game we are more likely to win...then I would defintely say UGA at home

The Swamp is still the Swamp...UF has more talent overall than UGA....and I just don't think UGA is as good as people are making them out to be. Last year we shreaded a UGA defense that lost most of its big time players for the upcoming season...I just don't see how we won't so that again

lean to FL, just because it's at the swamp, and we play them early, no real tape on that offense against a quality defense......

We lost our top 3 receivers and our best offensive lineman. There defense will not have most of their best players, especially since Oliver was dismissed, but our O is missing some pretty good players as well.

Florida.

They lost almost their entire starting defense, and their offense will be lead by a new sophomore QB. This is a good opportunity to beat them.

no tape on Meyer having the perfect qb for his system either as he will have this year

I couldn't really say. I saw many of Georgia and Florida's players play in and high school, and man, they were good. I mean those guys are the real deal Holyfields. UT will probably lose both.

Oh yeah, I heard that UF has 48 guys that run a less than a 4.3 40.:mf_surrender:

I hate to say it- but I think GA might get our goat this year... and I'll have to go into hiding for a few months; Osama style.

I was expecting this response after I re-read my post. You're absolutely right.....BUT....and this is completely biased....IMO we are replacing what we lost with more talent (O'neal/Vinson...returning letterman on the OL) than UGA has to replace what they lost (who do they have to fill the DB and DL holes that they have)....AND....we still have at our disposal the main reason we shreaded that defense....Eric Ainge.

I'd say those two games for yall are like flipping a coin. You've got a fifty/fifty shot at winning both games, maybe even better like 55/45. I think 6 teams in the SEC COULD be 10 - 2 this year.

Neither one would be a suprise. Its a tossup just like it is most every year. I think we will take the Florida game, because Florida will be inexperienced with all their new starters, especially on defense. The Georgia game i havn't made a prediction on. Its tough to call.

I agree about Ainge, and partly on with the part about more talent. I think O'Neal, Vinson, and Jones have the potential to be as good as Meachem and they could all be better than Swain and Smith, but with two of them being Fr. with no experience at the college level, it could take a season for them to get used to the speed, etc. Hopefully it will only take them a month or two. <crossing fingers>

Yes the talent level coming in at reciever is probably the best we have had. Lets just hope they will pan out in the years to come.

Slick shelley has been the real dissapointment. I was expecting him to take one of the lead roles at reciever, but he has been a no show.

we just better have two or three of our current receivers step up big time (hancock, rogers, or taylor)
