Can't believe Jennings career at UT is coming to a close. Sucks. Time flew by.

What a special, special athlete and warrior (sorry Nigel)! He is truly a generational type of Vol. One we will all remember forever. His heart and determination to not quit and his will to fight and win are the type of intangibles that can't be taught. You either have it in you or you don't. Jennings is that true Foxhole guy. The one you want battling on your side.

Who's next? Who's that Jauan Jennings (Hines Ward-esque) type of player for the Vols? Is that person on the roster? Is that person in the incoming class?

Who's that in-state kid in high school that wants to come to UT for battle? Jennings doesn't just step on the field to play football. He steps on the field to go to war for his state. It's a pride thing. Something that's just in you. Who's got that???

GBO! Carry that fight to the Dores Saturday and take back our State!

Talented players come along all time... But that drive and killer instinct with a will to fight along with talent is hard to duplicate. We will get our fair share of talented receivers but it maybe awhile before we get our next JJ. He will be surely missed, but i pray im wrong... GBO beat da snout out of vandy

There may be no way to truly know. Most recruits come in with potential, some much more than others, but it’s the development of that potential that makes the real difference. We all remember that Jennings was dismissed from the team by Brady Hoke, and there was a very, very real possibility that he would never play for Tennessee again. Imagine that for a minute.

Did that event change Jennings? Did that dismissal humble him enough and make him moldable enough to become what he is today? We may never know. But apparently Pruitt and this staff saw his potential and helped Jennings become what he is today. Talent is important, but good coaching and development is the key.

Lots of people can run and catch a ball. His leadership and toughness is what we will miss the most. I am just glad I got to watch him play. His "I got this Coach" attitude is immeasurable on a team. When you say that and then go out and do it, the rest of the team buys in to the it isn't over till it's over attitude. Many times it is the difference between WINNING and almost winning.

There's nothing really that I can add to this thread, everybody knows what type of player he is. There won't be another! He'll be a legend in the lore of Tennessee Football history. Every week, he makes plays that make you say wow! He makes plays that make you want to put on a UT uniform and hit somebody! And that is what he does for other guys on the team! It's called being a leader! The "juice" is the "captain!"

We're recruiting a kid named Dee Beckwith who I think is very similar to JJ, he's a bit bigger and faster than Jennings was his Sr year and he possesses the same "dawg" mentality as JJ. I think he'll be successful here if we are lucky enough to get him.
