Whoever it is, they better get crackin. When the NCAA allows the Dec signing period, UTs class will be complete well before Christmas.

Mid Dec though early Feb being able to focus on 2017 recruiting instead of worrying about holding on to your commitments till NSD? Yes please.

How likely is it that the NCAA will allow an early signing period? Is there a lot of support for that?

I'm not sure. I know there have a lot of talk about trying it starting this year and they would reevaluate it in a few years. I'd imagine most SEC coaches at least would live it. I could also see non SEC loving it as they lose fewer last minute flips to the SEC closer to NSD. Benefit for the recruit as you'll know where you stand much earlier. If the coach isn't ready to let you sign early, its time to look at your it her options. You would have at least 6 weeks then to regroup. As a coach I'd push for my whole class be done by the early signing date.
