Plan on making the trip. I’ve got Sooner fans in my wife’s family so it would nice to get this win. I think I’ll take that government handout in a couple weeks and get some good seats.

Food:

Hatch-best breakfast/brunch I’ve ever had. Loaded hash brown tumblers, orange glazed croissant with extra icing, massive pancakes. The coyote omelet with Christmas sauce is unmatched. Automobile alley in the old Buick building. A few neat boutiques my wife loved a short walk away.

Hefner Grill- Booths facing outward towards a lake that looks so out of place in Oklahoma. I love the ritz crusted cod in a peppercorn cream sauce. Wife gets the roasted chicken and it’s always fantastic. Crab bisque is great as well. On lake hefner and I recommend an after dinner walk to the little light house.

Maples BBQ- best BBQ I had while there. They do beef ribs on Saturday and it was unreal. Pulled pork and pork ribs are both good, brisket thinly sliced was great. In the plaza district with some neat shops and other great restaurants.

Empire slice house- best pizza I had in OKC. Also plaza district.

Pie Junkie- Walk over after pizza or BBQ for a slice of pie. Turtle cheesecake was the biggest hit among my friends.

Bleu Garten- OKC has the best collection of food trucks I’ve experienced. This is an open air courtyard where the trucks pull inside. Usually have three to choose from. Covered tables with tv, cornhole, and an on-site bar. Pretty neat evening. Close by to the OKC bombing memorial site.

The Jones Assembly- Solid food, great drinks, incredible atmosphere. Outdoor seating under a treetop table is awesome later in the evening. They put on some great concerts as well so check who may be playing that weekend.

It’s not my thing personally, but Nic’s grill gets tons of accolades.

Entertainment:

OKC Dodgers AAA team that plays in a beautiful park in Bricktown.

Bricktown in general has a good collection of bars/breweries

There is a festival every weekend, looks like the Paseo Arts Festival is 5-7 Sept if anyone is getting down there that early. That was a fun weekend last year. 44th Annual Paseo Arts Festival May 23-25 — The Paseo Arts District

Indoor rock climbing wall at the silo. OKC Silos — Summit

Rafting- Home - Riversport Adventures

Don’t get caught up in the Cattlemen’s Steakhouse or Toby Keith tourist hotspot hype.

Riverwood Casino in Norman was fun. Maybe you can catch them on a weekend they are doing a Beats and Bites festival. Concert, food trucks, and fireworks.

I didn’t spend much time in Norman but being a college town I’m sure there are a good variety of bars.

Other suggestions, most of which I haven’t been to, but look good: America's Most Underrated Food City: Here Are the Best Restaurants in OKC

Great rundown. We are staying in Bricktown that weekend so we'll definitely be hitting some of those places up.

Myself and 3 friends are thinking of renting a RV and making a road trip. One of them has a smoker trailer we're talking about pulling. Haven't 100% made up our mind. It's a long drive.

As long as the game is I will be there. I didn't consider buying the plane tickets now, but that makes good sense.
