I have a good feeling about the outcome as long as Williams stays out of foul trouble. Barnes ought to put Pons on the Japanese kid.

I don't know if refs calling it tight hurts or helps. Sure don't want to get into a free throw shooting contest (unless Williams is taking most of them), but Gonzaga has a short bench so if they get a couple of players in foul trouble then TN has an advantage.

Turner is the wild card. I don't think he'll play and if he does I don't expect him to make a major contribution scoring (but would help the rebounding).

Bold prediction: break out offensive game for JJ

One thing I feel relatively confident about this team is they are rarely going to get beaten badly because of our defense. Iโ€™m not sure about the thought that we should have beaten Kansas, so therefore we will hang with or beat Zags. We havenโ€™t played well enough this year to win this game but we have it in us. Need to stop the slashes to the basket and be on from 3 point line. We have a chance and good measure of where we are at right now.

Gonzaga is without Tillie. UT should win. If not, it will be a big disappointment. Hopefully, UT wins by double digits!!!
So, itโ€™s a big disappointment if we donโ€™t win? These are character games. Even another close loss will help us going thru rest of season. Would certainly be a nice one to win. After football, Iโ€™m just that we are playing prime time matchups in a sport. We need it.

I'm going with the thought that Barnes and company used the negatives from the Kansas game to help us prepare for GU. Hopefully, we will correct our mistakes, play a good game and take it to them.

Every time you go up against a top 10 Team it's going to be a challenge.

I love my Vols and bleed Tennessee Orange so call me a homer but I think Barnes will have our guys focused and that we get the WIN at the buzzer.

Tennessee by 2.

VFL...GBO!!!

I saw both games with the Zags in Seattle and now I live in AZ, so I will be at this one, right by the Big Orange bench. Looking forward to a great game and hopefully a big win!
GBO!

I hope I'm wrong, but it's hard to have a lot of confidence after blowing games against Kansas, and UNC two yrs. ago. I would feel much better if our three point shooting were better. It is hard to beat a team like this when your top two three point shooters from last year are only hitting 20%. GBO

Gonzaga is new money... not old money like UNC and Kansas. We won't be intimidated. We win a shootout 83-79. Grant Williams has 26 points and 10 rebounds.

a few keys to the game. Imo

1. Attack the paint. Donโ€™t settle for jumpers.
2. Feed grant. If he can get their bigs in foul trouble itโ€™s over
3. Guard. Guard. Guard. Protect paint, and
Run them off the line. Make them shoot tough mid range shots. Play the angles.

Schofield and Bowden combined are at 38% from deep so far this year.

I think we can keep it close but I don't think we can win in the end. We had Kansas beat but didn't have the ability to finish and I don't see a reason to think we have overcome that hurdle.

Grant Williams simply not fouling out would be a start
