Reggie White Dale Carter Dale Jones Greg Puki John Henderson Albert Haynesworth Leonard Little , Jimmy Noonsn, these just come to mind I know I’m missing a ton.
Great players.......minus one.
Albert was the most overrated player ever. Without Henderson, nobody would know who he is. Also, UT played football prior to 1977.;)

Yep Doug Atkins. Really surprised no one mentioned Jackie Walker. He could dominate a game like Atkins. And Al Wilson, and Bobby Majors, and Reggie White, and.... sheesh the defensive history is amazing at UT.
Jackie had 11 interceptions and returned 5 of them for TD’s- not bad for an undersized linebacker that hit people so hard the crowd would go ”oooooooooooooh”. Two time All-American.

Janzen Jackson

May have been a short lived stint, but when he was on the field, it was electric. I always felt like he was the perfect combo of Leonard Little’s aggression and Eric Berry’s football acumen. I was wrong. He was much more Little than Berry, but nonetheless, he was very exciting to watch.

Also enjoyed watching AJ Johnson for a hot second
Before he got himself in trouble.

I guess these guys are on the “greatest defensive players that could have been” list.
