The winner of the play in game or their round of 64 opponent?

You've won your first tourney game and should be rid of any jitters vs the extra rest of not playing in a week or longer?

I'm leaning toward rather being the guy with the win under my belt.

I posted an article yesterday that analyzed play-in winners vs regular field. Said the play-in winners tend to outperform. So it could be a good thing going into the second round

If I am being honest, I am concerned about the short turaround and how much energy we expelled to get that win last night.

I'll be even more concerned if we beat UMass and have to play Duke (3rd game in 5 days vs quality competition).

I would rather have a good team that does not have to fight year in and year out for a place. Then there won't be much NCAA tourney jitters to begin with.

Like Stokes, I'd rather have another 2 or 3 inches but it doesn't have anything to do with the topic of the thread.

I agree 100% with the 3rd game. I'd rather be the 1-0 guy instead of the 2-0 with the short turn around.

A 1st round winner for this year and this bracket.

You guys can call the first round a "play-in" all you want. I suppose it is, "a play-in" to the round of 64 ... which is then a "play-in" to the round of 32 ... which is a "play-in" to the "Sweet Sixteen" & etc.

Our VOLS are 1-0 in the 2014 NCAA NC Tournament.

After the overtime win, the team had to board a bus in Dayton around 1 am and ride through the night to Raleigh arriving right about now (~9 am). They play tomorrow afternoon at 2:45. Less than ideal in my opinion. But excited for our guys to get the chance.

I believe they flew to Raleigh.

I with you. A 3 pm start time on Friday is BS. they should play the last session on Friday.

My god that sounds dreadful! But, that's 40 year old me saying that. I think if I was in my 20's and in the tourney, I'd be so pumped it would all be good. Love how we are playing right now, let's go VOLS!!

Do you know this to be true? If so, what a stupid way to schedule their travel. I would have scheduled a mid afternoon flight - private charter.

Ideally, yes, but as the 65th-68th team invited to the tournament, you're not owed any favors. I'm not overly upset about it considering that, but I do wish we played at 7pm vs 3pm.

Well I feel much better about the circumstances now. Not sure why there was so much chatter about the bus last night.

Seems I heard the common taters talking about some (NCAA tournament rule ?) about bussing last night. Any body know what that was?
