I love coach Fulmer. But if he loses his job who would you want to have it? I would like to see the powers that be give Gary Rankins, of Riverdale, a shot. I know he's a high school coach but he's been recruiting for years and would be a great fit.

i would do anything that kept our defense the same. if our defense is the same, it cant get any worse.

i want anything to help our offense. maybe offer michigans oc a job but he probably would need the head coach job to agree.

michigan has a great offense. they have a whole bunch of playmakers at wide reciever.

They are averaging 32 pts a game. we are averaging 16 pts a game. they have a qb who isnt scared to play.

bill coweher inst leaving his job.

First, Fulmer isnt going anywhere. Yes, he will make changes. No, it wont be either of his Coordinators.

Second, no HS coach has a shot at the UT position. AT least, not right out of High School.

Third, Chavis, as far as I am concerned, is the next in line for UT's Head Coach. He has shown his loyality and skill to UT.

Fourth, if you think a successful NFL coach would leave his position to go to a university position, you need to get a clue. Thats like getting a Masters degree to go out and become a janitor. The college ranks are full of former NFL head coaches. But they were terrible NFL coaches. June Jones, Pete Carroll, tell me what they did in the NFL. NOTHING! Thats why they are in the college ranks.

I've seen some off the wall suggestions, but did I just read that you wanted to turn over a top SEC program to a high school coach? Two words . . . Gerry Faust.

How about Billy Bob Thorton or Gene Hackman. Those were two good HS coaches.

OMG people... if we're going to have the discussion of bringing in a new coach, at least bring a intelligible suggestion to the table. :banghead:

Al Groh* left the JETS to coach at the University of Viginia. I know they just lost to UNC but he has recruited really well. I believe he took the Jets to the playoffs. Rankin was a joke and I admit that Cowher is a huge stretch but I do think it is time for a change.Do you think Gruden would leave the Bucs? It's no secret that he dosen't see eye to eye with the ownership and he has ties to Knoxville. Its definetly something to think about. He has a great offensive philosophy and he cares about defense. Ther wouldn't be a down period as far as getting the right players in to run the offense because his style has many similarities to what the vols are doing (Urban Meyer). Tennessee is definetly a team that has followed certain trends over the years and the success of NFL coaches coming to the college ranks is to great to ignore. I don't think Jimmy Clausen would mind playing for him either.
