Who Would Have Guessed?

I think Frost and NU will be successful again sooner rather than later. Huskers have the $$ and name brand to stay relevant in college football.
Like peay said i hope they do. But they're kinda like us in that they're getting to the point where recruits don't actually remember them being relevant in the cfb landscape.

I see that, but Nebraska doesn't even border any recruiting "hotbeds". They used to get a lot of guys from Fl, Ca, and Tx. That orange school to the east will always have the Carolina's, Ga, Al, and Ms next door. I really can see Nebraska becoming a Minnesota. Great in the past and a total nobody today.
Now hold on. Nebraska is right next to Io, I mean right below South Da, I mean real close to Kan, Wyo, uh, Col, Missouri. Ah crap. Good point.

I never thought I'd see the day that Nebraska was this bad. They won at least 9 games and finish ranked in every season from 1969-2001. Since they fired Frank Solich at the end of the 03 season, they've lost at least 4 games each year and finished unranked 8 times. Now it appears he bottom has fallen completely out.

Still to this day I'm baffled why they fired Solich. My guess is the husker fan base forgot about all the time they gave Osborne and pulled the trigger a little early.

True. He pretty much played second fiddle until Oklahoma fell off the map after Switzer had to step down.

They had the exact same feeling Alabama's fanbase is going to have when they fire the guy who follows Saban after 2-3 years. Bammers are going to be way more complacent and entitled than even the Husker fanbase was after Osborne. Osborne went 60-3 (37-0) on from 1993 - 1997 with 3 national titles. That win/loss record itself is actually better than anything Saban has ever done, although Saban is doing this in the SEC.

I don't remember the exact mood at the time, but they probably fired Solich more because of the 7-7 (BTW, they played 14 games then?) the year before rather than the 9-3 the year he was fired.
