Just with any season, I want to see how the chemistry of the teams shake out before I predict. UT seems to have the nod due to experience. And with than experience you should win the East. But this is CFB and the SEC and we all know that anything can and does happen. I think the game in Athens is a toss up right now. A lot depends on Chubb's health and Eason's progression. The kid has a canon for an arm and seems very mature for his age. But we'll have to see how he is when pressured. UGA should have the most talent in the East across the board, according to recruiting rankings over the past few years. But UT has assembled a talented skill position group of upperclassmen. If CBJ doesn't do it this season, I don't like his chances. I have to say that I think Smart has made some good moves and has UGA fans more optimistic than in years. But Vol fans know how that honeymoon season works.
I'd give UT the sure nod as things stand right now, with UGA being 2nd in another weak East lineup. Bama and LSU will have a lot to say about who wins the conference. I'm not very confident that the SEC champ will come from the East this year. But anything can happen in CFB.
