Not "who has the best QB?" or "who has the best WR?". It takes the total package. Considering QB play/experience combined with WR talent and OL protection, who will have the top passing attack in the fall?

UGA - Stafford, Masoquioaeaux, young OL?
UT - Ainge, unknown WRs, avg OL?
Bama - Wilson, Hall & Brown, 5 OL returning?
AU - Cox, young WRs, depleted OL?
UF - young QB, Harvin, young OL?
UK - Woodson, solid WRs, questionable OL?
USC - Mitchell, young WRs, avg OL?

What say you????

Kentucky had the best pass O in the SEC last year, so I see them doing it again.

Randy Sanders baby:p

You bring up a good point. UK led the league in the statistical category, and granted Woodson is very talented. But, you want to know why they led the league....and probably will again in 07?

Because they play the majority of their games from behind, that's why. If UT went into almost every 2nd half trailing by 10 points, Ainge would destroy the record books.

Hence, I don't put UK at the top. It's skewed.

If anyone out-guns Ainge, it will be Wilson and his 2 targets. I don't think it's gonna happen though. Trooper will have our boys ready for war

Good topic, btw!

If Tebow defies his critics, and becomes an good passer- he's got the weapons to be dangerous as well.

Had they not been the WORST O-line in the conference last year I would say we have a good chance. But they will really have to improve their pass protection for it to happen.

Kentucky...Woodson, Burton, Tamme is sick...plus they have Little to had the ball of to when the passing game isn't going

Bama's OL is an interesting topic in itself. While you've got a future All-American at LT (Smith) and an All-SEC Center (Caldwell), the other positions are suspect at best. Those 2 can't block em all. If Bama fills those gaps with young talent and they grow up quick, I say Bama clearly wins this debate.

Of course if that happens, Bama will upset some teams as well.

There seems to be a lot of optimism out of Gainesville about that, but who can tell until they line up? In the Spring he did well. And of course in high school his numbers were ridiculous. But that's high school.

Luckily, Nick said that by the fall our O-Line will be able to eat lightning and crap thunder.

UF with Tebow is the best. He's tall, fierce, and can throw ( he did throw 5 or 6 passes last year ). With Harvin, Caldwell, and all the speed the gators traditionally have plus Meyer's system their offense will be tough to stop just like last year. We've got to worry about their offense and punish their inexperienced defense sept 15th.

Actually their offense wasn't too hard to stop last year. It was their bone crushing defense that gave everybody fits.

I don't know where you get your stats from, but the fact is that UK led at the half of 7 games last year, were tied once.

UK trailed 5 games at the half, including Florida by 5 and Georgia by 4.

South Carolina is really the only game that you could say that your over-reaching generalization is correct. We trailed them by 10 at the half, but were a dropped pass in the end zone as time expired away from beating them.

The big question for UK's passing attack this fall is the OL. 3 of the starting OL graduated. But consider that you have Woodson at QB, Keenan Burton at WR. Both are projected by many to go in the first round in 2008. Jacob Tamme at TE is All-SEC. The rest of UK's WR corps are pretty darn good with Steve Johnson, Dicky Lyons JR, and Demoreo Ford.

LSU was not even included on your list, thus voiding it.

Not really.

I said that we trailed at the half of 5 games, which includes LSU and Louisvile, games in which UK didn't have a chance to come back at halftime. UK didn't really run up the numbers vs. LSU, did they?

Should I have mentioned that UK was up by 2 vs. Tennessee at the half?

I was referring to the list of best passing teams in the SEC.
