I am not wanting answers based on what their college performance was. I am wanting to know based on what we knew at the time of recruiting.

Also, another criteria being someone that we thought we had a good chance at being a Vol.

Scroggins has not done a lot in college, but we really wanted him and we were highly disappointed when he went to USC.

Vonn Bell is the most recent obviously.

Who are some more examples?

Paul, I know Lamar Dawson crushed us pretty bad. You're right, Scroggins was huge on here.

We really were hoping for Gabe Wright, and that didn't happen.

Cam Newton, when we didn't get in on him hurt us bad.

You could call Tahj Boyd a miss.

This is just a bad idea Paul. It's like the "Hot Girls that you thought you had a chance with, only to get stood up on the first date."

Offseason just something to talk about

Bruce Irvin is definitely one of them. One time Tennessee commit, only to end up at West Virginia. Another couple of examples, would be Chris Simms and Kenbrell Thompkins.

Lamar Dawson a few years ago really hurt us. I think Q. Davis who's a sophomore at UNC now really hurt as he'd be starting right now and wanted to come here till NSD when CP committed. Boyd def comes to mind as he's proven his worth the last few years. I think losing Santos was bad last year as I feel he'd been a great redshirt prospect and a great MLB one day here. I think Ben Brantley this year was a very bad miss for us as well.

I think what we can't have is in three years we come to this thread and see names of guys in positions of need such as LB, DT, RB, and OLinemen. We have to land some elite players at LB, DT, RB, and Oline in 2014. I think we need two great DT with one being elite, 4 great LB with one being elite, 2 great RBs with one being elite, and five oline with two being elite. When I say elite I mean top 15 player in country at their position, maybe top ten for a RB and DT.
