Hes 44 years young! 14 years younger than butch davis. He can recruit players to BOISE STATE!!! And hes not affraid of trick plays when things are in a crunch! Hello Statue of liberty! if hes coach we can expect 2 years of rebuild and the rest be great winning season. Butch davis is 58 which means 2 rebuild years and 3 great years but then he will be 63 years old and ready to move on or retire. Just my two cents!!:peace2:

Peterson doesn't have nearly as good of a resume as Davis.

He may not but look at florida. They went after a young coach! Young guys still have fight in them. They have something to prove. Older coaches that have a winning track seem to lose steam as they get old such as phil, bowden, and spurrier. Joe Pa dosent count. I guarantee hes not running the show at p state. Hes just a face in my opinion.

Meyer had a MUCH better resume than Peterson.

Im game! I just think younger new blood is the right path.
I think a young guy could be great, but you don't see a lot of guys like Butch Davis. If that is remotely possible, Hamilton should try everything to get him, because he could very well have UT competing for the national title in 5 years IMO.

Davis is old!!! I'd say that he could be competing for a nursing home admit in 5 years. :dunno:

63 isn't that old for a football coach.

back in the 90's it wasnt, but the new trend is younger. This may sound bad, but whoever we get is gonna lose some games. Lets just hope that the games we do lose is not b/c our coach was out coached!

After watching the TCU-BYU game last night, I can see why some poeple on here would like to see Gary Patterson come here. I don't think I would mind that, myself.

A lot of the best college football coaches are over 55.

young coach=fresh ideas. we have an older coach now. i don't care who they bring in as long as their age starts with a 3 or a 4. butch davis will be damn near 70 in 10 years... why deal with that again any time soon?

plus, butch davis selected william green over clinton portis that HE himself coached. judgement flaw.

butch is a good coach, but for how long?

Meyer had a MUCH better resume than Peterson.

How so?..He was at UTAH for 2 years using Rod Mcbrides players and lost 2 games in 2 years there...Meyer was the flavor of the year when UF grabbed him...Peterson has lost 3 games in 3 years...Pretty impressive if You ask me...I can't understand why some of You support unproven coaches like Muschamp yet bad mouth coaches who have actually DONE SOMETHING in coaching...Unbelieveable...I'll still take Butch Davis over everybody but I wouldn't be upset if they went after Peterson :clapping:

We didn't have much success the last time we hired a Petereson. Maybe this one would work out.

That is true, Pete Carroll, Nick Saban, Les Miles, Mack Brown, Jim Tressel are all struggling year after year because they're getting old.
