I know what everyone is going to say. Play to win with Ainge. And I do agree. But, we have some very important games early next year...Fla, Auburn (on the road), Georgia...with a new, unproven quarterback. Jones was incredable yesterday at quarterback. Should he not deserve to get a longer look in a big game? Crompton too?
Thoughts?

Anyone but Erik.....heck I'll do it......

I would love to see Crompton play 3 quarters though. Erik should shart the first quarter, Crompton the rest with the final two series alternated between Coleman & Stevens.......

Benching a Senior QB playing his last game would send a very very bad message.

please. Let Ainge go out in style. He's earned it. I blame his two ints for the SECCG, but he's not done anything worthy of losing his starting position. We have all winter, spring and summer to get Crompton, Coleman and Stephens ready. Ainge has done nothing to not deserve a shot at winning a bowl game in his last game.

Ainge is our QB. Crompton should get a look if we can manage a decent lead. you never play college football for next year.

Silly thread. I know people are frustrated but you are making this judgment off of two bad throws in the last fifteen minutes in the last game that he played. Out of over 1,000 throws in the prior two years. Most of you wanted to have his baby after he won the game with Vandy. Be frustrated but don't turn on the guy for a couple of bad passes.

I agree and it only makes sense for Ainge to start the game....hopefully we could get up a couple of scores and then see the "new blood" in a game setting.

I'm going to say start with EA 1st qtr, then he get's to hang it up. The rest of the game I would like to see our other QB's and see what they hold in store for us.
Let them play for awhile and bring in someone else.
Just my :twocents:.

 I agree LG.

it's idiotic to suggest that Crompton should start the bowl game.

This isn't an NFL preseason game.

See Arkansas or LSU last year. Or Cal.

I've not missed a game since '87 so I've seen him....I'd just like to see more that the 12 passes he's attempted this year and actually get in the flow of the game and run the offense. Hopefully we'll get up early so we can see all three.....

So I guess you know he looked horrible against Arkansas last year.

He did well against LSU last year.

He's also thrown as many picks as he's got completions this season.

i agree that our backups are untested, but this should have been something that the coaches thought about earlier in the season...maybe started to rotate some of the guys in for more than a couple of hand-offs or option plays. to date, we have no idea if any of the guys who are in the running to lead the team next year have any passing ability or consistency. i'm VERY nervous about that.

EA of course. and we put the g-gun back in the holster for next year and look at expanding it or even look hard GJ at QB nest year. His speed and vision was very impressive last nite. Can he Throw?
