Do you remember DB's who couldn't cover or back-up to protect deep? Well get used to it. Just like the days of 3rd and Chavis the gift that keeps on giving. That DB coach is back and it ain't going to get any better.

I remember nobody wanting to throw on Cam Sutton after his freshman season.

Yea I know it was Willie and he still is terrible. Since you are on the sideline couldn't ya give the burrell kid a few tips regarding improving his defending skills in game? No improvement at all. How much are we paying you Willie?

I disagree. This staff knows this is a big problem. It's why they were so interested in those juco DBs that went elsewhere. I'm not ready to give up on this staff just yet. First thing they needed to do was change the attitudes of the team and fans. They've done that. Now they need to improve the talent and we all know it's going to take a few more recruiting classes to get there. Right now the most important thing for this program is the portal. We need to load up and plug the gaping holes on our roster. I know they're too numerous for one year to correct them all, but we really need DB help in the worst way. There's not a single player in the secondary that I'm feeling warm and fuzzy about.

Other than UGA (who fired him) Willie never stays anywhere longer than 2-3 years. I can't imagine him being here after next season

I wish Taylor had played but since their best WR sat out that’s basically a wash. Turnage played exceptionally well when he filled in for Taylor earlier this year so I still thought we would be ok but then he was suddenly unavailable. Hadden got beat on Purdue‘s first TD and honestly that’s the first time I think I’d seen him play corner. Of course Burrell has had problems all year and last night he never modified his coverage style even after 4 or 5 PI penalties. Like many other areas, we’re a little short on talent at DB. I hope Turnage being out was a one game thing and not because of something that could impact him playing next year. He has good skills along with size and athleticism. But we really need a stud corner from somewhere to step up or step in for next year.
