If they had bothered to read any team forum they would've known that tons of fans aren't happy with the way NIL and portal are going, even more so when there was talk of Nico sitting/leaving during the CFP

I told people and I will say this again. This will be a case study on how to ruin a career. Lane Kiffin had it made here, his dad told him to stay. Nope leave the worst way possible. Now Nico - had it made here a decent year 2-3rd grade, good to great 1st round this time next yr. Now he would be lucky to get power 5

Someone in the Ad. Big Nic got pissed cause his plan blew up with the leak.

It was UT and here is the reason.

Nic had made his demands. He had overplayed his hand. There’s no staff better in the country at evaluating talent, especially guys who have been on the roster for years. The staff was firm that Nico was being paid his worth, and more, considering the pedestrian year he just had.

By the time this began to come to a head, UT was firm that they would not pay more for a player whom they felt was being more than adequately compensated.

So, they knew where they stood, had a pretty good idea that Nic was not going to move off of his demands for Nico so they put it out. Nakos phoned Nic. Nic knew his hand was called and he handled it about as badly as he could have handled it. We were already prepared to cut Nico loose and when Nic ordered Nico to hold out Friday it provided the university the perfect opportunity to cut Nico loose because he had failed to answer their calls and many texts. Nico was in breach. The University cut him and they came out looking like the reasonable party dealing with an unreasonable parent who basically lives to pimp out his sons. Nico had no professional agent then. It was Nic and a friend, with Nic calling the shots. The Iamaleavas walked right into a trap that was every bit of their own making. They’ve no one to blame but themselves.

lol. Lane seems to be just fine. In fact, he has taken a garbage sec program and made them relevant.

Carson Beck is a much better passer than Niko but they both greatly struggle with decision making so he is a gamble as well

I believe our camp realized they were dealing with very dumb people,

Yea only left to go to his dream school and get fired, spend another 5 years at a school beneath him and have to settle for a school that will never be considered the class of the conference

This! No way Heup or DW was going to allow Nico and his crew to break AND spin the story the way they wanted at the outset. Nico and crew are still showing up like villains to this day.
