Who is the Vols toughest remaing opponent

Offensively, the Cats will be the hardest test for a depleted Vol defense to stop..... without question
I'm trying to make myself believe the Vols will still win out and finish 9-3......... but it's just not that easy?

Obviously the intention of the post dwells with our 3 remaining reason games. I do expect we will win the East and expect Florida to self-destruct at LSU. With their injuries SC could surprise them. I believe they will also lose to FSU, while not an SEC game will lead to a continue downfall and possible bowl loss. If that occurs, I think that may be the hottest seat going into 2017.

I'd rank the difficulty as follows:

Kentucky - 2nd hardest. Good run attack and decent offense. Not enough defense and they are Kentucky.

Missouri - 3rd hardest. Just not enough in the tank, but our health should continue to improve.

Vandy- 1st. Our hardest test. We should (depending on the next 2 games) be at our healthiest in a long time, but it is a rivalry, on the road, Vandy does have a good defense, possibility of a bowl, playing to keep their coach, which looks probable. We should win and go to Atlanta, but that added factor will be both a motivation and added pressure which Vandy would love to ruin our season.

I expect to win those three games. Finish 9-3 and most likely lose the SEC championship game. I do think a much more healthy team will give a better performance in a probably rematch. If it turns out to be Auburn instead, who knows. Get the best bowl game possible, win with a final record of 10-4, SEC East champs and a top 10-15 recruiting class.

Coin toss between Vandy and Kentucky right now i would say Kentucky they can run and throw Vandy doesn't have the Offense as Kentucky has but Vandy has a very good Defense both game's will be close and could go either way with all our injury's could lose both game's and then there will be a major melt down on Vol Nation some fan's don't won't to hear the truth but this is still a very banged up team.:thud:

Vandy. It's a non-home game. Although I don't give Vandy much of an advantage I guess UT might not get the same level of intensity. Vandy has also the ability to make it a grueling game. Tough RB, stingy defense. UK is more of a high risk, high reward type team. Sometimes they look decent, sometimes they look awful. Vandy is at least somewhat consistently average.

Everyone needs to consider Vandy will likely be playing us for bowl eligibility. Combine that with the fact that the Tennessee game is their super bowl, they can wreck our chances for the East, and they hate us. That game is a recipe for disaster.

Toughest opponent...Dobbs. If UT can contain him we might win all three games.

I'm going with Vandy. Their defense is solid. Their ground game is actually good. They have developed and improved passing game each week with their freshman WR. Toss in all the intangibles mentioned and Vandy is probably our toughest opponent left, not saying we can't make them all tough as we ha e tended to do that a lot this year.

I think it's a tie between Vandy & Kentucky. Mizzou is right behind them & not that far away. We really could lose all 3 of these remaining games. I don't think it will happen but it's certainly possible with all of our injuries & players now missing.

Kentucky Hands down. IMHO Kentucky is a better team than USCjr by a long shot. Missou and Vandy are wins unless we seriously sleepwalk. Against Kentucky anything less than our B game means a loss.
