Tennessee or Kentucky?

Tennessee - The fan base excited again, ending on a positive note, another month of practice for the team, recruiting, etc.

Kentucky - 25 losses in a row. The biggest chance to beat TN in Knoxville in quite some time. Their fans truly expect it, just read their forum.

IMO Until the streak ends (if ever) I always think the pressure is on UT to keep it going.

There is no pressure. There are no consequences aside from an emotional roller-coaster.
If Kentucky wins however, I will probably never be able to show my face at work again.
I'll more than likely have to quit my job... Give up all the niceties.
No Pressure.

Their best corner is suspended for the first half. They can't stop the run. Pressure is on the cats.

Re: Is this the year we finally overcome Tennessee???
I do think this will be our year to beat the Vols. I am excited to be going to the game. The first time I have been to Neyland stadium. Does anyone know if the Cats will do the Cat Walk on Saturday? Thanks. Go big blue!

What a bunch of morons.. Is this person really asking if they are doing their "cat walk" before the game?? haha. Do they realize they are on the road? I'm not sure they would get the reaction they usually get at home but I would love to see them give it a shot. Half of their team wouldn't make it into the stadium.

I feel the pressure is squarely on us. Like earlier post all the fans and players from past teams will remember who lost the streak. Also this year for certain as Kentucky is bowl eligible already, we still need this game. They are a basketball school so if they lose they always say wait for the hardwood, this is OUR PRIDE playing on the grass. Plus the whole Randy Sanders, Tee Martin, and that million pound gorilla that won't get off our coaches backs from the fans.... Randall Cobb.

We better beat them this year or next year. Soon their program will rebound and we will have to wait another 20 years to even have a chance at it.

Honesty is rare on the interwebs.

There is equal pressure on both teams. Tennessee to finish strong and get a bowl, Kentucky to end the streak. Big game with a lot at stake.

Tennessee. The pressure is definitely on Tennessee. Not only are these seniors trying to not be the guys who lost to Kentucky, but a loss would also guarantee another losing season. The third such season since 2005.

If Kentucky does not get us this year i think the streak may continue on for a long, long time.

I can't decide if in the overall scheme of things if it would be easier to accept a loss this year or next. Consequences this year would be a losing season, no bowl etc. but many people expected that to be the case anyway so it might be easier to handle. Next year, if we continue on track, there is a possibility of coming into the Kentucky game with 6 wins so the bowl game wouldn't be at stake, so the reaction would be crud, we lost to Kentucky, but we made a bowl so not a totally lost season. . .

Ok, so now I'm off to get something to eat, should I butter the top side or the bottom side. . .?

It seems like every year is Kentucky's best chance to beat the Vols. I remember them saying the same thing when Andre Woodson was their QB.

This

There may actually be a little more on UT since they finally have some momentum...to finish 6-6 and get a bowl invite...but it is pretty close to even imho.

Big game for both teams.

Glad it's in Knoxville. :pepper:

The Big difference: To the few cat fb fans wearing blue, KY loses...big deal, it's bb season anyway. To the many Vols fans, lose to KY...it's a REAL BIG deal, the sky is falling. :eek:k:

On top of the bowl eligibility(which really isn't certain since we may go to Vegas at 5-7)and the 25 year thing, we also kept our streak of being one of only two programs I beleive to never lose 8 games in a season. It has also been since the early 60's since we had two losing seasons out of three years. On top of all that, these seniors of all that I can remember(since the mid 70's), deserve to leave with a Senior Day win. That was what I hated most about losing to Vandy in '05, Until that point, the only other loss in the last 35 years on Senior Day was, u guessed it, Kentucky 1984. I would say the pressure is squarely on us in this one.

Players don't feel the same pressure at all that fans dream up. Neither side feels it IMO. its a game. they both want to go win it but it is much less about a streak and mroe about winning a game for other reasons.

Streak is down the list of importance. None of these players were even born when it began and could care less about it.

Don't kid yourself. Both teams know the significance of that streak and being the team to break it. Our guys know it's the difference in a losing season. They aren't wearing shirts that say "517" on 'em because they're big Levi's fans. None of them were born is why it is significant to them.

Disagree.

Actually, I think the bye week may be playing into our favor this time. UK is making a very big deal over this. Sometimes.....making too big of a deal can backfire.
