I do not live in Tenn. so I dont know how the people around K-ville feel about it but I would think Pat Summitt is the most respected peerson at UT. Is this correct? Who is yours?

I think Pearl gets the most respect now. Not as many people follow women's BB as men's. Fulmer hasn't won an SEC title since 98.

Within the athletic dept it's Phil hands down - he's the CEO of the biggest sports product in the state. Then Pat, then everyone else. Pearl is building respect at a fast pace. Rod has a solid rep as well.

All of them are the most respected athletic figures in the state.

Rod is not respected very highly. Talk to high school baseball coaches

I would say Pat, even though I do not follow Women's basketball. Noone can argue with what she has done. I would say Pearl is closing the gap. He has taken a mediocre SEC team and had us within a stone's throw of the final four. He certainly has Vol fans excited at a time when they haven't had much else to be excited for.

Phil...at one time you could say he was the most respected, or tied with Pat Summitt, but he hasn't done squat in nearly 10 years. Only his loyal fan club truly things he is doing a great job.

Rod Delmonico? He made a living off of some top notch players from the state, Todd Helton, Bubba Trammell, R.A. Dickey, but really hasn't earned much respect. His style of dink and dunk baseball sucks.

you dont have to follow womens basketball to respect what pat has done for UT and womens basketball

Let me rephase the question this way:

If one of the three; Fulmer, Summitt, Pearl had to leave the university who would you prefer to leave first and in which order?

For most people that is going to be Fulmer, Summitt, and then Pearl.

That is why I think Pearl gets the most respect. He's the coach fans would least like to see leave.
