What single person or group shaped the way you view political issues? Family? Friends?School?Military?

For me it was just growing up and taking in the reality of life and politics around me. I guess i kind if formed my own opinion. I started out pretty liberal but as I grew up I came to dislike the lack of personal responsibility in the liberal platform.

parents/family, college, job

I have really changed my views since the time I cast my first vote to now.

politics not my strong point, certainly wish I really had a good understanding. I work with a lot of liberals and conservatives and there are heated discussions at times. I like to hear what my family has to say.

Ellen Degeneres.

Honorable mention to Prinicipal Richard Belding from Saved by the Bell.

G. Gordon Liddy

I started listening to him in late 1993 and I've never forgiven myself for voting for Bill Clinton. My political views were all over the map and Liddy helped me gain perspective and focus.

My parents- until I went to college and began thinking for myself.

I've thought for myself since my parents told me I had a choice to go to church. I saw people there that were blindly leading their lives based on how people told them to do so, so I quit going.

One could say that a whole congregation is responsible for my free thinking. :D

A single person? I guess, it would be Ayn Rand, but there were other influences that occurred before her.

Chuck D gave me a healthy distrust of the government. Bill Clinton made me realize that the Dems only want blacks for their votes and will take advantage of us whenever an election isn't in the near future. And recently, GWB has made me realize that there are very few true conservatives in the GOP.

I agree with all those observations.

For me it was just growing up Gotti and taking in the reality of reality TV and police around me. I guess i kind if formed my dog's opinion. I started out pretty conservative but as I grew up I came to dislike the lack of personal responsibility in the Fox News platform.

Two can play that game. :)
