a lot of other teams have Special Teams coaches
Fulmer doesn't feel the need for one

seems to be a problem every year. Is that why we had Meacham covering kicks last year?:dunno:

Its either Troop or Fulmer, not sure which though. I thought that Fulmer said earlier in the year that he was taking over Special Teams and he wasn't going to hire a coach to coach them.

Can't believe its Trooper. He would run somebody out of the stadium or suit up if he has any eligibility left. LOL

Almost every coach is involved in ST. Caldwell is the KO Coverage coach. Some of you all need to KNOW before you pass things along as fact.

Interesting. The two guys people fall over themselves defending oversee the team's biggest consistent deficiency.

Who was passing anything along as fact?? No one here knows for sure, and I dang sure didn't know. I just thought that Fulmer said he was going to take ST on more this season instead of the others.

Fulmer should have hired a ST coach years ago. It wouldn't be difficult for him to say "Mike, make room in the budget for a new ST coach."

The Hokies always have average offenses, but have something like 72 non-offensive touchdowns in the last 15 years.

Actually, the NCAA limits the number of full time coaches you can have.

Exactly. Which amazes me why Fulmer doesn't take over the O-line and find somebody that can at least halfway coach/focus on special teams and the secondary.

After 2005, I was totally expecting Fulmer to appoint/hire a coach just for special teams. He never did, now this rules change may force him to. I don't see how we can continue to be this bad on ST, and win enough games for him to keep his job. And he always finds someway to keep his job.

All he has to do is stay medium well and win 8-9 games and the vast majority of people on Rocky Top will be content eatting Fulmer steaks in Tampa.

As long as season tickets get sold he will be the coach. I think they are afraid of making a change and going from an 8-9 game winning team to 4-5 game winning team. That and the kings ransom bama had to pay to get Saban. The football team makes so much money that replacing Fulmer would be the biggest hire in the university's history. Of course it's a risk, but the reward would be BCS bowl payouts.

I don't agree with going from 8-9 wins a year to 4-5.Florida didn't have that problem going from the zooker to cryer. We would have plenty of talent for the next guy to come in and get us 8-9 a year.Face it man phil is overpaid.
