My claim to fame is being a descendant of Robert E. Lee.

Yet i have never owned a Confederate flag. Go figure.

Finally! My chance to say it without feeling like I was going out of my way to brag about it(which I'm not). I'm related to the Mannings, my grandmother and Archie are 4th cousins. Nothing close at all, nor have I, or will I ever meet them. But still cool IMO. And Josh McRoberts is my cousin also.

This is a bragging thread bro, we might not live up to their legacy but just maybe we can use these as pick-up lines at a bar. I might have to change mine to Bruce Lee though.

3/4ths of my grandparents were Scotch Irish descendants the other one English descent. My only claim to anything much is that one of my ancestral families were among the first settlers in the Sweetwater area, and one is among the first 4 non Cherokee families that settled in the Sequatchie river valley. There is actually a small community on the Marion/Sequatchie county line with our name on it.

My Great Great Grandfather was one of the first people to seriously teach the art of typing. He was a good friend of Thomas Edison and Rudyard Kipling. Always thought that was pretty cool.
My Grandmother has a signed picture of Edison and a signed copy of the Jungle Book.

Some people on my dad's side did some research and they claim we are descended from Frank James, brother of Jesse James. I have no idea whether to believe it or not. I can't say I've ever heard of a genealogical search that didn't somehow come up conveniently with an illustrious ancestor.

A couple years ago I looked through some pretty sweet files. I saw a few of the instructional books as well as little political cartoon-style cards that he would make and send to friends for Christmas, etc. Basically he drew his own cartoon and made them into some sort of a postcard. That was really cool to look at

This. If you follow the branches out enough you're sure to find something.

Oh, and my Mom's Brother's Ex-Wife's Son is Phil Helmuth.

Still think he's a douchenozzle.

I'm going by what my Grandmother has told me and shared an extensive Lee family tree book for my viewing. That being said i honestly haven't done enough research to say that this a fact though. It does seem that everyone has some famous genealogy. Then again we all have to come from somewhere and odds are someone famous is on one of those branches.

My stepdads family is directly descended from the James family. So if true you might be distantly indirectly related by marriage to me.:) small world huh?

Would be incredible. How great would it be to hit your gut-shot straight on the river? I feel like I'd owe the tourney a 2nd buy-in just for my entertainment value
