Who gets fired first when AD is hired?

Butch Jones won't be fired for 7-5 season, I'm not so sure a 5-7 season will get Jones fired....he's got a couple of years regardless
Go Vols

7-5 and Jones staying will set the program back. 8-4 is not much better. If you are right, we had better hope this team can go 9-3 in 2017. Recruiting would suffer terribly otherwise.

Well at least all of our coaches have job security since Tennessee is in no hurry to hire an AD. It's appalling that it takes this long to make a decision. The Tennessee administration is a joke and it clearly shows that their focus and interest are not on athletics.

If I could spread this thread over my yard, the grass would stay extra green for the next ten years.

Butch Jones? Holly? Serrano?

The better get this hire right. Looks like they will be hiring at least two or more replacements for coaches listed above!

I must admit I am consistently amazed at how little understanding there is among us on how the system works...I can only assume you are projecting down the road at least a couple of years...otherwise...you will be sadly disappointed.

Not trying to be argumentative, but do you believe the SEC is even as difficult as it was under Dooley? And even then, we just had a schedule where we played 13 games, only 3 of which were outside the state of TN. THREE. This team against a normal SEC sets all-time loss records at UT.

It's all relative. People just looking for a reason to bash. The record is what it is, it really doesn't matter what it would be if this team or that team was better.

Everybody will last at least one year, considering the timing of the AD hire. Holly has the benefit of finally getting a talent boost on the roster and will greatly benefit from the freshmen if she can settle on an offensive system. Butch might do better than anyone expects as well, provided Shoop has the assistants he wants. Scott has been given a lot of credit for the offensive resurgence at the end of the year, and though that must be in part a push to get people used to the idea of him getting the job, there are some indications that there is truth to it. Of course it could all go completely to hell if the new coaches aren't able to work together.

So basically by posting this you are spreading a rumor which you are so admittedly opposed to others. Deerpark is a reliable poster if not the most. But how does he know when there hasn't been an AD hasn't been hired? He can't say for certainty, but honestly it wouldn't surprise me.

Butch definitely isn't a guarantee to be here anywhere close to 3 yrs..If he goes 8-4 or worse next year and loses to UK,Vandy,UK,Mizzou or anyone else he has no business losing to he won't be here going into 2018, I guarantee that!! I see Women's Hoops being the first Hire the new AD has to make. But football will give him a chance to put his stamp on UT athletics and to show he can make a great hire for Football. No AD is going to take the abuse on a hire he didn't even make. Butch gets is fortunate the new AD wasn't brought in 6 months earlier. He won't survive another year that he loses to Vandy,SCe and costs the school a huge bowl payday and end up in a lower tier bowl.

Incorrect..7-5 next season and Butch is gone.. Guaranteed!! Because that meant he lost atleast one bad game and most likely losses to Ala,LSU,GA and UF and God knows to who else. No chance he survives 8-4 or 7-5.

That is so far from being accurate. If we go 7-5 next season you can't honestly believe Butch will be back. There is ZERO thance that happens. Not to mention it being widely known he was out job shopping for himself but not even the Purdue's of the world wants him. He will not survive a 7-5 season with a new AD coming in and a chance to make the biggest hire an AD can make at TN..A football coach! Nobody with any sense can honestly believe 7-5 or worse that he is here in 2018. Not happening!!

Right now the hot seats belong to Warlick and Serrano but I think the new athletic director will give both of them 1 more season to evaluate both of them.

JMHO.

Warlock,Serrano and Jones. In that order of seat temperature!

baseball. other two are safe with Holly being the safest..

I agree but All 3 are definitely on the clock with their next upcoming seasons. I have little to no faith in Butch to ever make more than mediocre, non power 5 school hires. I don't know if he is worried that one of them could be his replacement or what it is. He has the money and resources at his disposal to make SEC elite coaching hires. He is like the average looking girl that surrounds herself with ugly a$$ friends to make herself more attractive and get all the attention. And that will be what eventually gets him fired. He just isn't wired mentally tough enough for a stressful, big time job like TN where 8-4 and mediocre bowls every year won't cut it. This job is too big for him and unfortunately that is way too obvious.

You mean the same deerpark who felt that Helfrich, Hoke, and Fair were done deals as well. Or, that Blackburn was all but hired nearly two months ago? Right? Meanwhile, now he is saying that CBJ will be around for at least 3 more years and Holly as well. Well, he is right on one of them.

I agree that does need to happen. It probably won't given her recent recruiting and a new AD coming in. If she were to go, I think there would be no problem filling the job with a great coach given the program's incredible history.

The incredible History may prove to be a deterrent for some coaches, don't you think?

He's not being fired if he has 4 winning seasons in a row.

Hm. Well you said "look at where we were pre-Butch". So to compare where we were before Butch you have to try and determine if the teams are better or if they are just playing weaker competition. Unless you are an imbecile who thinks a win is a win regardless of who it's agains. If that's the case, carry on.

Saban then Dabo. Teach those two upstarts a lesson or two.:peace2:'
Then it's on to Mason, Muschamp, and Smart. That should do it for now.
Anyone else need firing?
