Who does Berry remind you of?

Holy god. I haven't thought of that guy in years. Fulcher was a much bigger guy though. Somewhere in the range of 6'3" 235lbs. That was the size of most LBs back in those days.

Physically he reminds me of Lott. Hitting style too. I still want to see more of him one-on-one with a number 1 WR to really evaluate his cover skill. Even though that isn't what he will usually be asked to do. But he will occasionally have to cover a slot wr in man-to-man. Anybody have any idea what his current best 40 time is? I though I heard he was a 4.51 when he was being recruited. I expected him to be faster than that.

The week before Rivals (or scout...one of the two) was coming to his region for mini combines in HS, he broke his wrist doing the long jump (as he obviously did track as well in HS).

His arm was in a large cast, and he hadn't intended on running the 40, and hadn't prepped for it. So the story goes that everyone is talking about him and word gets around to him that alot of the other kids are saying he is scared to run because he is afraid he won't get better than a 4.5

So he runs the 40, with no preparation, and with a cast on his arm that he said felt like carrying a medicine ball while he ran.

His time? Just a 4.33, nothing special.

;p

Or so the story goes...

I'll go with a bit smaller version of Sean Taylor. EB is prolly a tad bit quicker but I like that comparison.

RIP ST...

I remember the good ole days when our heroes were on the offensive side of the ball. Now a sophomore DB is all we can muster for a hero. How pathetic. I hope he never gets seriously injured. Think of the mass suicides that would soon follow.

Even if we had Peyton here Berry would still be huge.

I've never seen a DB who could do everything at an elite level like EB. I haven't seen any weakness yet. You could line him up against almost any player on the field and he would have the advantage. Some things that don't get mentioned a lot are his intelligence and vision. He knows where the ball is going to be and always takes the best angle to lay the wood or make a play on the ball. And on top of it all(unlike most freakish athletes) he has the mental makeup to stay focused and humble and keep striving to get better. Honored to be able to say that I got to watch EB mature as a Vol and he is already my favorite Vol of all time. I can't imagine what the hype would be surrounding him if UT was a national power like we were in the 90's.

A shorter Sean Taylor is a pretty good comparison "so far".

I don't think he can be compared with Deion too much.

This thread has devolved into a "how many All-Pro defensive backs can you name" thread. Minter? Atwater? Woodson? Seriously?
