Who do you want for a bowl game?

Only possible opponents are:

Michigan, USC, Iowa, Washington, Nebraska, Illinois, Minnesota, Northwestern, Penn State
OR
Pittsburgh, Virginia, SMU, Georgia Tech, Miami, Duke, Louisville, Wake Forest, Clemson, NC State, California, Florida State
OR
Notre Dame

Since Notre Dame will win and make the playoffs scratch them off.
Since Tennessee will beat Vandy, likely mark off the Music City and Dukes Mayo Bowls so scratch off the bottom of the ACC, Minnesota, NW and Penn State

So that leaves likely

Michigan, USC, Iowa, Washington, Illinois OR
Miami, Pitt, UVA, SMU, Ga Tech

I doubt a Florida bowl would match us with Iowa again for the 3rd time in recent history, and we have recently played Pitt and UVA and open with Ga Tech next season.

So my guess would be

Michigan, USC or Illinois (never played them) or Miami or SMU
You also have the possibility of a Big 12 team given the Texas Bowl (although 8-4 Missouri will probably end up there).

And you also have to factor in that any Big 10 / ACC / Big 12 team that used to be in the Pac-12 can still be selected for one of the old Pac-12 bowl tie-ins first.

Maybe William and Mary and hope William is on injured reserve.

Yea, I know ... Cruel. Vanderbilt was ranked higher and all that but I didn't see much fire in our boys in orange.

We aren't going to the Texas Bowl or Liberty....either Jacksonville, Charlotte or Nashville at this point

That's fair, especially given there's likely only 4 SEC teams available for those 6 spots. The Liberty Bowl is easily one of the two that won't end up with an SEC team.

Though one still has to take into account the "Big 10 / ACC / Big 12 team that used to be in the Pac-12 can still be selected for one of the old Pac-12 bowl tie-ins first" part though regarding potential opponents.

Think it will be Illinois or lesser Big 10 team. Vols stock dropped but they remain a bowl favorite due to fanbase and exciting offense. Minnesota or Nebraska look possible with Nebraska being preferred. Hard to believe that Wisconsin had such a bad year. Looking forward to seeing Joey and the boys again in Florida.

Whichever team that has a Center that’s deaf and a QB that’s blind, Banks could then appear brilliant for once.

Just kidding. Is my disdain for Banks showing?

GA Tech would be an interesting matchup. They're second on our schedule next year. I sure as hell don't want Iowa again.

I want Michigan or USC. Maybe Texas though that probably wont happen. Just not Iowa again, we have played them too much in bowl games.
Not sure we want any part of Michigan. Their D is legit and a horrible matchup for us. Much rather play USC.

If they leave out Miami again and leave in Notre Dame, that’s going to destroy the credibility of the playoffs panel

That's just the tip of the iceberg, Shouldn't VIrginia be ranked ahead of Miami? since they have the same record and Virginia beat Miami? yet Miami is 5 spots ahead.

That is really my point, few have respect for that committee, now no one will
