We now have 2 VFL's going head to head in the Knoxville sports radio market.
Swain is on WVLZ from 7-10am and Ainge is on WNML from 9am-noon.
So, during the 9am hour, they are on at the same time.

Being an old retired fart with little else to do, I switch back and forth.
Just wondered what other Vols do that like sports talk.

I tune into Swain from 7:00-9:00 and then I listen to Ainge. I catch the last hour of Swain on the podcast later in the day.

Not really head to head. Their shows only overlap for an hour. They're not stepping on each other's toes TOO much LOL!

Swain's show has gotten worse since the football program started to get better. He seems to not have as much access to the program and you can tell he's a little bitter about it.

Ainge is entertaining and can be very informative but the junior high jokes get old after a while.

Neither. Other than being Vols they are no different than Basilio or Doc & Heather or Hyams. Never once gotten a good piece of exclusive or insightful information from any of them. Just speculators at best and rumor mills at worst. Not always their fault but it doesn't change reality. Probably has more to do with Butch than them.

Can't stand swain. I find myself yelling at my radio because of him complaining about the "3 stars" the last couple days. The guy beats a dead horse into the ground because he can't think of anything else to talk about.

Sports radio is a waste of time. Guys with opinions--every fan has one; and you are listening to 1 minute of advertising for every minute of sports blather. And that's all it is--blather. And I've listened to a lot of sports radio over the years--but happy to give it up. It's bad value for time. And of course there is great tradition of putting former players on the air, no matter how little they may know or how inarticulate they may be. I speak generally on that point and I don't mean it as a knock on Swain or Ainge, neither of whom I've heard. I suspect Ainge does know his football stuff, and maybe Swain, too. Still, bad value. I once briefly listened to a D.C. sports-talk station that featured a former high-profile player as a host. He was TERRIBLE, and when he tried to interview players from other sports such as hockey or baseball, well, time to switch the channel.

He don't tickle ears. It is a concern. Dooley cruited a bunch of 3s and didnt coach them up

It seems Ainge has cut out the middle school humor this time around. The show sounds a lot more mature, but still entertaining.

I like EA but this time around he seems to follow tha sports animal company line which is t sugar coat everything to keep their access to the Athletic department. Swains presentation is not as good as EA but I thinks hes more honest.
