Who do you feel is the best CF coach?

I just don't think that Carroll would have the same success in the SEC that CUM or CNS enjoy. So, I guess I would go with Saban since he seems to be the better recruiter.

Saban and Carroll are really the same kinda coach. Great recruiters with a defensive focus who let someone else deal with the offense.

I would go with Saban though just because he's built several teams up, not just one.

Larry Kehres

275-21-3, 10 national championships, 17 straight conference titles

And he does it all in a state that, once Ohio State gets their fill of the top players, has six more D-1 schools (and a ton of D-3 schools).

"In order to be the man, you have to beat the man" therefore I have to go with Houston "dis" Nutt!

I'd love to see Tressel win 11 games a year in the SEC or the Big 12 for that matter. Ohio St sucks

I love questions like this, partly because I really hate them.

On top of "how do you define great? ", there's the "do you mean historically, this decade, or last year?".

Since somebody already jumped on the Meyer grenade, I'll put Spurrier into the mix. No man in the history of the NCAA has ever gotten away with so much trash-talking in the name of School Spirit without giving the NCAA a legitimate excuse to censure him.

He's gone down-hill since he left Florida, but I don't think you can talk about great coaching in the 20th Century without mentioning Spurrier's 1996 poster-show, where he tracked the Vols from pre-season to post-season-- from possible National Champions, to, thanks to Memphis, Knox County Champions...

Somebody come up with a "What you talkin' 'bout Lewis" scale for what we're supposed to mean by "Best" CF football coach. If we're going to argue about something, we might as well get back to basics.

Hate these questions, no one ever dictates the criteria for the answer. broad question/broad answer
