Offensive - chandler
Defensive- bituli

Grier is going to get all the talk before the game before TN harasses him all day and causes a pick or two. Chandler will prove himself the outright starter with his big play ability and tough running style. The o line will be much improved as well.

Whoever starts at QB for TN just manages the game and moves the chains when necessary. I don’t think UTs passing game excels until we can prove we can run it effectively.

Who do y'all think will be the player who has the best game for Tennessee against West Virginia? I think Ty Chandler will be Tennessee's MVP of the West Virginia game. I think Ty will run for 125 yards and 2 touchdowns to help Tennessee beat West Virginia 30-24.

If UT wins that likely means you ran the ball very well, so this is a good choice.

I hope it's Marquez Callaway or Juan Jennings, that means we're able to throw the ball deep and we need that
Go Vols

We’re going to need big days from safeties and linebackers. WVU will run a lot of mesh routes underneath to get Sills going and their other playmakers. Our guys can’t get lost too much in that stuff . Bituli, Kirkland and Sapp need to stay in their spots and not get out of position. Then Abernathy and Warrior will have to come clean up when they get to the next level.

I think Bituli will be our most important player next week.

I'm going with Guarantano.....13 /19 for 197 yards 3TD's / 0 INT's in a VOLS win.
JG stakes his claim to the starting QB spot with a breakout game in Charlotte. GO VOLS!!!

Nope, we'll win this one on the ground, passing yards........agree, but UT's TDs.........on the ground.

If we win this game, it will be because we slowed it down, took command of the clock, dominated time of possession, and limited West Virginia's offensive opportunities.

That means our offense will be the dominant side of the ball (though our defense will have to do well, also).

And that style of offensive play leans heavily on the running game. Churning, and churning, and churning, first down after first down, none of it fast, very little of it pretty, but persistent.

And that means the MVPs will be the offensive line.

Yep, our #1 weakness in 2017 (and 2016, and 2015) will have to be our MVPs in this game, if we're going to beat West Virginia.

I'm all for it. Lads, strap it on!

Our passer (hopefully JG, but Chryst if he's the man) and catchers on offense and...just as importantly...our catchers on defense. 3 ints will mean Grier's not having time enough to get his shart together. UT's O will dominate if the pass/catch on that side works, freeing up this vastly under-rated O line to mow the grass in front of them.

It's a game of "ifs." Whoever is QB, if they can get the ball to the WRs with any degree of consistency, Jennings is going to blowtorch WV. Though he will be the MVP if the QB(s) do their job, he won't be the only catalyst. Every WR that plays will have at least 4 receptions, with or without TDs. But Jennings will be living, sleeping, eating dinner, and enjoying a scoop of Hagen Daz vanilla bean ice cream atop a slice of mango pie for desert in the endzone.

If the QB(s) aren't efficient, look for the RB experiment to see us having a set of co-MVPs. That will be Ty and Jeremy time clocking 140 and 128 respectively. AND, dare I say it? Short man Jeremiah Howard sneaking past the LOS after hiding behind the OL and bursting by before anyone sees or find him. He goes for, no kidding 75 yards and at least 1TD.

After this goes down exactly as I've described it, I want VN to pool their money to buy me tickets to all 2018 season home games, a quart of Mayfield Black Walnut icream, and a whole 16" mango pie. I'd have insisted on a Dauphin H155 for private transport but don't want you guys stuck with a 15 years debt on my account.

My thinking as well, along with our backs.
Adding that while Ty is our premier rb, we need all (guessing) 3 to have solid games to have control of the clock for the entire game.

That goes against the question of THE mvp, the line and backs need to be 1 strong entity.
