fulmer is fired i will sacrifice everybody to see a change i cant stand to watch fulmer anymore on the sidelines... i bet we have some guys on are bench that with a new coach will come out and be game changing type players. plus i dont see 2 many people de commiting if he is let go but if they do w/e i can take it

If we get a badass coach we won't lose much at all...some of you people act like these kids only want to play for Phil Fulmer?! PHIL FULMER SUPER COACH!! lol... These kids would jump at the chance to play for a top-notch coach at UT(tradition, stadium, facilities, etc.). It was not that long ago that we were an elite program...bring in the best coach out there and the kids(most) don't go anywhere.

I'm not worried about losing any recruits. There will be some casulties, but we should hang on to a good core of the class.

I think what you have to remember is a great recruiting class under the current coaches has not done much for us (we've had two Top 5 classes in 4 years). Even if we lose some good recruits, it's worth the change -- and the change is definite. In the short-term, I'd rather perform above average with average recruits than consistently underperform with top recruiting classes.

im not defending Phil im just saying what i know. I agree that if we get a certain good coach (BUTCH) we wont lose anyone, and we might actually have a better class.

if we get Butch we will still have a top ten class no doubt ! maybe even top five..
but why do we think we'll get him..
is his contract over after this year or something??

I forget where but I rebember hearing earlier this season that BD wasn't considering leaving UNC. I don't know if that is just him being loyal to his team while the season is still going on or what. I know we hear that all the time and then the coach ends up leaving anyway.

Rich Rod comes to mind

I keep seeing posts on other forums that people have good reason to beleive that Bill Cowher is interested in UTK.* I've seen a couple of posts saying that they have a good source to confirm this and that Cowher was in Knoxville recently.* Anybody know anything about this?

Belicheck and Parcells have already displayed interest, I'd take either of those guys over Cowher.....

Parcells is just starting his new job in Miami and doing a good job. I can't imagine him leaving so soon. Belicheck is a little more understandable because he had so much trouble with spygate and his core players are getting old, but I can't really see him leaving NE either. He seems to love it there. IMO Cowher is the more likely option but I could be wrong. I do know that Cowher lives fairly close in North Carolina. Other than that I don't know too much about it.

Phil isn't the person mostly responsible for this class. Clawson and his staff are. If they go, so does most of our class.

That was funny. No chance in hell with any of them. I noticed that a lot of the Cowher rumors started after he headlined a coaching clinic earlier this year. What possible reason would any of those guys have to coach here? When you have that much success in the NFL and have millions of dollars you don't go into semi-retirement by coaching a college team.

I think Fulmer needs to be replaced. Saying that though, sometimes coaching changes bite you in the butt. It is just easier to look at guys like Urban Meyer and Nick Saban and point to their almost immediate success.
