It's time for a Freak independent study.

I keep seeing references to VN posters who believe Derek Dooley is on the hot seat THIS year. I've personally not seen any (not many anyway) such posts, and I'm not convinced the opinion is as rampant as some would have us believe.

So, if you believe Dooley is currently on the hot seat, or will be by the end of the season, please identify yourself in this thread.

Thank you for your participation.

***Poll added. Beware, your vote is public.

......as of right now, no.

Things could change if we lose to either Vandy or Kentucky.

I'm sure Hart can't wait to make his mark as A.D. It's just down to which coach gives him the chance.

Not me. Dooley needs at least 4 years. Next year's recruiting class looks promising. It is obvious that depth is our major issue, when we commonly hold strong in the first half, but fade in the second. The Georgia and LSU games were examples.

According to a bunch of media whores like Clay Travis he is. But if it wasn't for stupid stuff like this and the rumors on message boards , that asshat wouldn't have anything to talk about.

Dooley is not on the hot seat.

To be clear , by stupid stuff like this , I am talking about the people posting that he is. Not this thread.

If he has any more crucial injuries this will be need to be renamed year 0.2 instead of year 1 for DD

Lose to Vandy, miss a bowl game, recruiting suffers for it. What happens then? Love this game.

Right now no, if we are still getting these same results in 2013 I say yes, however I do expect alot of improvement next year like a 8 win season not including a bowl game. And ill base my 2013 expectations on 2012

In terms of being in actual danger of being fired at the end of THIS season, no chance. However, he should at least be put on notice that if the team doesn't show significant improvement next year, his services will no longer be needed or desired in Knoxville.

Dooley is only on the hot seat with fringe-lunatic Vols fans. If there isn't significant visible improvement NEXT YEAR, with an all Dooley junior, sophomore, and freshman class... he will be coaching to keep his job in 2013.

No way is he on the hot seat. He was handed a complete mess by the program destroying Kiffin. He looks to be on his way to three straight good recruiting classess that are holding up well as far as getting admitted and contributing on the field. DD is unproven as a big winner, but he needs an opportunity to get his own talent in place.
