I didn't have time to go into too much detail, but just scanning over their resumes, who are your #1 seeds?

Note *

If any statistic is wrong with the above post, let me know. :eek:k:

Also, where I didn't have time, I included the neutral site wins, as away or home wins. Whatever the schedule had them as.

Is the number beside the "biggest win" teams their RPI or their poll ranking? If it is their rpi, I don't think North Carolina was 1. If it is their poll ranking, Memphis wasn't number 2, it was number 1.

The number beside "biggest win" is their current rank. I'll go back & change it to what rank they were at the time of the win. :good!:

I will say that it seems hard to imagine team D not being a one seed, and maybe the number one overall. I definitely didn't think them as possibly being number 1 overall before looking at it this way, either.

I am going to go with D, A, F, E in that order.

D,F,A, and E. I think RPI is the biggest thing to look at.In college Football, they go by the BCS don't they. Well, the RPI in my mind is the same thing. Look at the Strength of schedule and RPI by a couple of those teams. They just don't add up to the four that I mentioned. This is a no brainer to me and should be to the selection committee. I think NC, Tenn, and Memphis should all be locks as #1 seeds and Kansas, UCLA,Texas, and Duke should all be fighting over the last #1 seed. I know that I have Duke as a number 1 seed but when you look at the numbers, they have played a tough schedule and are high in the RPI. Personally, I think Texas deserves the fourth #1 seed. Great job X.

Texas, are you kidding me. You would put Texas before Duke or Kansas. Probably the only time you watched them play was when they beat Tenn, IMO.

The number one seeds are never decided until after the conference tournaments. If Kansas wins, their a number one. If Tenn wins, their a number one. Same with Duke or North Carolina in the Acc. Memphis is really the only lock i see, because they WILL NOT get beat in their tourney. This happens every year and we all know this.

Oh, ok...has their ever been a team that enters the tournament with a regular season 3-0 record against 3 of the 4 #1 seeds???

If the season ended right now, then we could argue the four #1 seeds, but this is all premature. Let's say the North Carolina gets beat in the second round of the tourney, which could happen, and Duke goes on to win it. Guarantee Duke is a one seed. If Tenn loses in the SEC tourney and Kansas wins the Big 12, that will bump Tenn. The committee has shown through the years that conference tourney winners do get noticed and rewarded.

Tennessee is on the fence, as far as a #1 seed. They have absolutely no room for error and most likely must root for an upset in the Big XII and ACC tournaments (ie., champions other than Texas/KU and UNC/Duke).

From what I've read, the committee selects the #1 seeds the day before selection sunday regardless of what happens in the Conference Tournament. Might be wrong though.

I agree totally, but all Tenn has to do is win the sec tournatment and keep the decisions out of the hands of the comittee. They have known to be a little biased anyway IMO.

Even still, this is a message board. The thread author wanted to know, based on the profiles given alone, who people picked as the number one seeds.

What they do is select the teams and possible scenerios as to the outcome of the conference tourney's. The SEC and ACC both play on the Sunday of the selection and sometimes teams that need a win to get in are playing. Also lets say that a team allready in is playing but is currently a lower seed. They could improve their seeding with a win. That is why the seedings do not come out until Sunday night after all the conferecne tourneys are over.

I don't think we need to go that far... If UT wins, they are a lock for a one IMO.
