My wife is making a craft project and I need to know from the horse's mouth who are the greatest athletes in Tennessee history according to you guys? Top 15 list. I appreciate it.

UT history or state of Tennessee history? Native Tennesseans or including players who played for universities?

athlete-wise, tee martin makes that list definitely for all he did on the field

are we saying athlete like best football players or athlete like most athletic? (ie some player come out of High school called Athletes rather than a postion b/c of their skills to play multiple positions on the field)

i would consider holdsclaw and parker better athletes than several men...they are 2 of the greatest to come through UT

I also personally like Carl Pickens, because he is from my hometown.

Are you looking for the greatest athletes, or the most revered as your title suggests? There are several players from the Neyland era who would not be considered among the greatest athletes by today's standards, but would certainly be among the most revered. Names like George Cafego, Beattie Feathers, and Hank Lauricella would have to be included among the latter.
