Because they havent proven themselves at UT yet, thats why Jones shouldnt have given them the raises. Its like the Mike Hamilton syndrome has scarred this administration for life.
And neither had I proven myself at any of the new companies. But they showed good faith in my resume until then, else they would not have hired me. They also knew I had to have incentive to make the move to a new company, thus the increased pay.
Are you saying that UT must force coaches to prove themselves at UT before they can work at UT? Are you saying that UT should force coaches to prove themselves at UT before offering them incentives to come to UT (a university under NCAA sanctions, in the most competitive conf in the nation, with little in-state talent, a lack of recent success and an irrational fanbase...)? I'm glad you two are not the ones making the hire.
And edit: Jones coached with most of those guys for years. Do you actually think they hadn't proven themselves to him as coaches? Who would be better suited to evaluate their worth than their boss at the place they were leaving?
